"It's alright." Liam said. I put my head down and let a small tear fall. He was a handsome lad. It's just there was one little thing.

He was me.

I'm Liam James Payne and I was turning sixteen today. I was all excited. See, I had invited my whole class to come. But nobody came. Do people hate me this much? Am I that bad?

"Your not bad, Liam. Your amazing. People love you, you just don't know." He said looking me in the eyes. It's like he read my depressing thoughts.

"They didn't come." I said weakly. The tears were falling now.

"They'll regret it. Trust me." He said. I looked up to lock eyes with his, but I locked eyes with air. He was gone. Well, I was gone.

"You can do this." I told myself over and over again. I had let my birthday memories go, and had decided to do something I would normally, never had the courage to do. I auditioned for the XFactor.I had made it far enough, to be at Simon's house at the moment. I was proud of myself but a bit worried. I had just sang and was waiting for the results. My hands were shaking.

"Liam." A lady called out motioning for me to come. My results were coming. I stood up shakily and walked over to we're Simon was.

"Liam, it's bad news." Simon said. My heart dropped. I brought my hands to my eyes and let a couple of tears fall. Everything I had came crashing down on me. I had just been illiminated and humiliated on TV. But it wasn't just that. My dreams were crushed.

"Liam, I didn't feel you were ready. Come back in three years, and audition. Promise me you will." He said with a straight face.

"I- I don't know." I stuttered, turning around to leave.

"Liam. Do it. Come back in three years. You have to, trust me. Your life will get so much better. Just... Do it Liam." I heard a familiar voice call to me. I turned around sharply to see Liam standing there. It had been so long since I'd last seen him. I had to trust myself.

"Hello Liam. It's been a while." Simon called to me. It had been three years and I was auditioning again. My hands were shaking with the microphone in my hand. We chatted for a while on stage, and it was time to sing. I was scared my voice would come out as shaky as my body, but hopefully it didn't. The song went smoothly, as I had planned. I stood there stunned at what I saw as the song came to an end. I had a standing ovation from all four judges. And standing right next to them was Liam. He had slight tears in his eyes. I had tears in my eyes as well.

"Liam, I told you to come back in three years time. I got it right." Simon's words clenched my heart. Liam was now crying like crazy.

"Yes"

I couldn't hold back the smile on my face as they all agreed to let me through. I thanked them and ran backstage. I immediently hugged my mom. I looked over her shoulder to see Liam standing there.

"More. It gets a lot better. Just do what your told to. And July will be here before you know it." He said. I nodded. What happened in July? Before I could ask anything he faded.
