A camera is a very intricate and complex object. It pretty much consists of a lightproof box that lets light in at just the right moment. The light enters into the camera, creates an image by causing a chemical reaction to the film which "exposes" it, and then you have your picture.
But what I love so much about photography is not actually taking the photo itself, but the moments right before I snap the picture. When my finger is just barely grazing over the button, and all of my attention is focused on getting the right shot. My breathing shallows, and all I see is complete and utter beauty displayed in front of me. Whether my focus is on a person, a random house object, or a landscape, I search my mind to come up with at least one thing that I am thankful it does, and one thing that makes it beautiful to me.
I personally believe that if we lived life like that-continuously trying to find beauty in everything and everyone-we'd all be happier. Honestly, the world as we know it would change. People would be too busy being thankful for one another that they would put aside their differences.
That's why I try so hard to find positive sides to everything, even if it's just when I'm shooting quick pictures with Chester, my well-loved and well-beaten up Canon camera. That's why my eyes are in a constant search for something simply exquisite.I want to change the world.
I don't really know how I will achieve this, but I do know that giving up is not an option.
