Frisk embraced Flowey like she had no-one else. Her heart was pounding, she felt like she was in the air, floating happily with Flowey... Too bad it was short lived. Flowey let go of her and sighed. Frisk asked him what the problem was, and he said, "Frisk, I would love to come with you, however the only time I can de- root myself is when I'm being Asriel or I'm fighting a foe."

Frisk contemplated a while before responding, "Nonsense! All we have to do is de root your longest roots, and then you can latch onto my arm, I'll be your life source, and like in movies, I can gain power from you." Flowey wasn't so sure, but he agreed anyway, and let Frisk go to where his longest roots were.

Frisk dug deep, using her hands as shovels, and finally reached the longest root finish, all the way near Flowey's life stem. She carefully pulled at it, and heard Flowey's cry as she quickly ripped it. She asked Flowey if he was okay, and he nodded ever so slightly, as to not cause any more damage. Green and black liquid followed through the ends, and Frisk wondered what they were. Green she got as his blood, he's a plant after all, but black.

Then Frisk realised. That was were his evil came from. She stared at it oozing down into the earth, killing everything in its wake. Frisk hurriedly climbed to the top, unaware the black liquid was escalating the earth, targeting her. As she reached the surface, Flowey went to haul her over, but instead the black liquid wrenched her from her spot on the surface of the Earth and pulled her under, and Flowey could hear her screams for help, but he couldn't shrink down anymore, the roots wouldn't hold him and he would die.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frisk called for help thousands of times before her voice grew hoarse and crackly. Her throat was dying, and she couldn't speak more than 5 words at a time. The black liquid formed a head, and it was Flowey's face she saw. Suddenly, the black spoke in a raspy, shy like voice, "Is this your lover?" It asked Frisk. She nodded.

"Well then I have a tale to tell you about him." Frisk gasped. She just thought Flowey was there, never really pondered whether he had a backstory as to why he was just there in that field of earth and sadness.

"You see.. Frisk, Flowey wasn't always a talking flower. He was artificially created, and when Asriel died, his soul got sucked into the unmutated Flowey, and then Flowey, became The Flowey you love. You know who the creator is? A little dinosaur creature here in the undergrounds called Alphys. She worked on him, and he was a failed project, so she dumped him here, all alone, without anyone to care about. Flowey developed me after 100 years of moping. I was his only friend, in his blood, in his stems. He could talk to me, wonder about life, mope with me, but I couldn't ever speak to him, so he tried different approaches. In his luck, the war between humans and monsters was forming, and he teared up thousands of souls that felt like fighting a flower. Then, the humans won. With an almighty disperse of determination and courage, they sealed us away, Flowey still trapped in his area, though the soil still crumbly and forgotten. A few years later, human children came along because of the legends human mothers told their child. They would venture down here, and Flowey would teach them skills, that weren't useful at all, and Flowey would laugh as they cower in front of him. Flowey was all about power when they came. Especially Chara. She fought him, and Chara won, aided by a not so friendly Toriel. They traveled throughout the underground, killing each monster they came across. The only ones left were the ones that eventually killed Chara, and Asriel was killed as well, but he also gained power to souls. He is evil, and you Frisk, must destroy him. Stay away from Flowey, and stay away from me. Flowey loves you, so the feeling passes to me, but I don't want to kill people like Flowey does. Don't let him latch on." (A/N Some of this might not be true though, don't trust an author to write a backstory on a game character).

Frisk stared in awe at the never ending talking ooze. She knew so much about Flowey now, and paid no heed to the ooze's warning. She nodded her head once he finally finished, and the ooze lifted her above the ground where Flowey was waiting. Frisk smiled, knowing that Flowey wanted to greet her, and her to him.

Flowey felt like it was forever before Frisk returned to the surface. She was smiling, and Flowey adored that smile. Ever since the day they met, he had yearned to see that smile so many times more, and here was one of those times. Flowey pulled her in, kissed her on the cheek before hauling himself out of the ground, and latching himself onto her arm. She yelped as Flowey's thorns dug into her skin, seeping the determination out of her. There was plenty of it, but Flowey was shortening Frisk's lifespan and his own by doing so.

Flowey asked is Frisk was doing okay, and she nodded weakly. 'Not as much determination as I thought,' Flowey pondered as Frisk starting their journey to really discover the Ruins.
