It was just a normal day in the Tented Market. Considering the fact that the market is anything but. You could buy anything here. Hundreds of stalls scattered around. Selling potions, spells, charms and so much more!

But in this story we are focusing at one stall/shop in particular, the dessert shoppe.

Maddie's POV

"MADDIE!"

I sighed.

"Yes, Miss Hopkins?"

"Stop doing whatever you are doing at the kitchen and get to the customers," said a stout woman quite the size of, probably, a whale, if it wasn't insulting.

I stopped focusing on controlling the broom in front of me and let it fall to the ground as I stood up and tied a bright-pink apron around me.

I took a deep breath and faced the many customers that is in dire need of something cold to eat on this hot summer day.

Three hours later.....

As I sat down, tiredly, on one of the comfy looking chairs to rest my sore feet, I sighed in relief and exhaustion, a cup of tea in my hands.

Finishing my tea, I was about to stand up for an early lunch break, cup in hand, when I heard a meow.

Looking at my recently vacated chair, I raised an eyebrow. I've seen weirder things than a ginger cat looking at me as if he/she is waiting for me to say something.

"Yes? What do you want?"

I certainly imagined the annoyed look on the cat's face.

"Yes, I want some strawberry yogurt."

Though I'm pretty sure that I didn't imagine that.

Was I slipped a potion?

I, superstitiously, sniffed at my cup to find any hint of spearmint that came along with a Hallucination Potion.

Nope, just smells like chamomile tea.

Hearing a throat clearing, I looked back at the impatient-looking cat.

At a loss for words I stammered,"S-sorry, s-sir, we're out."

Then, Madam Hopkins came, delicately, holding her finest china with strawberry yogurt. She, hurriedly, put it beside the cat before, profusely, apologizing.

"So sorry, Mr. Muffet. Maddie's new."

I certainly take back every single compliment I ever said about her.

Muffet nodded disdainfully and said.......

"I certainly hope she learns the ropes soon."

.........before digging in to the strawberry yogurt.

When Madam Hopkins left, I whirled toward the content ginger feline and demanded.

"Who the hell are you?"

Ginger put up a paw as a hold-on sign. It was only when he finished eating the yogurt, that he turned his attention on me.

" I ," he started dramatically, " am Muffet."

He looked expectantly at me.

"So."

'Muffet' unexpectedly face-planted.

"What do you mean 'SO'!" exclaimed Muffet.

" It means," I stressed out the last word," That I don't see how it means anything."

"Don't you read the magazines?" said Muffet, desperately.

I shrugged.

"Just a load of rubbish for me."

"Well," said Muffet, importantly. " I helped the greatest love story to happen and helped the most famous fairy godmother, Noelle Simpkins."

"Oh."

I heard rumors about this 'Noelle Simpkins'. I just didn't believe them.

Just then, the door rang and in came in a girl with beautiful brown hair and dark brown eyes, almost black. She was wearing this dress that was white with pink flowers on it. The dress reached right below the knees and was gorgeous.

It was Noelle Simpkins.

How did I know?

One, because Muffet kept on muttering it to me under his breath and two, I had seen her working in the pumpkin patches.

Oh yeah, also because of the paprazzi.

Noelle's eyes surveyed around the shop before brightening when she saw Muffet.

"Muffet! There you are. I've been looking everywhere for you," she exclaimed, happily.

Feeling awkward, I cleared my throat.

Her eyes snapped to me and her features turned from relieved to awkward.

"Oh, umm, was Muffet bothering you?" she asked in a polite but awkward voice.

Muffet snorted and opened his mouth to retort but it was kinda hard talking through Noelle's hand.

"Uh, no?"

Somehow my answer turned into a question.

"Um, this is awkward," Muffet, offhandedly, remarked after Noelle's hand stopped covering his mouth.

This snapped me and I offered my hand.

"Maddie Harper, nice to meet you."

She smiled, relieved, at me and shook my hand saying.

"Noelle Simpkins."

A flash, temporarily, blinded me, reminding me of the paparazzi.

We laughed and hugged each other. She smelled like pumpkins and leather.

"Let's go eat some pumpkin pie," Noelle suggested and I nodded, happily.

And thus, began a friendship between a simple waiter and the famous fairy godmother, Maddie Harper and Noelle Simpkins.

All thanks to pumpkin pie, strawberry yogurt and Muffet.
