Chap. 3 The Team

(Before we start, this is about 6 months after the last chapter, Dick knows Bruce's secret and some broken English. He starts to panic easily, and doesn't like to meet new people.)

Batman - 02

Guest

When the voice of the Zeta Beam rang out into the quite mountain the team didn't think much about it. The fact that Batman was checking up on them wasn't really anything new. However, when the fact of a guest was with him, then they were interested. Kid Flash of course runs ahead only to run back, looking pale.

Batman walks in with his typical outfit on, but the scary thing was that Batman was smiling... at a little boy. The kid was clinging to his leg, looking terrified. Leaning down, the Dark Night whispered something to the boy, and he released Batman's leg, giving the team a good look of him.

At a quick glance, nothing seemed wrong. He might of been a little pale and small, but healthy. However, this was a group of super heroes. They noticed the little things. Like, how the small boy had dark circles under his eyes, or how he was holding himself gingerly, like he was injured in some sort of way. Most importantly, they noticed how he stayed near the Dark Night, staying small like he was going to be threatened.

Looking closer, Kid Flash noticed the slight bulge under the kid's pants on his right leg, suggesting that he might of had a knee brace on for some reason. Stepping forward, the kid stumbled and almost fell over, pain obvious in his face. Batman noticed and caught the kid, yet again murmuring quietly.

The boy nods and steps again, this time steadier. Looking at the older people around him, he opens his mouth and talks with a heavy accent and broken speech. "H...hello... I... Robin"

Most of the team smiles at Robin, but Kid Flash does one better. He walks over and kneels down by Robin, a big grin on his face. "Hi Robin! I'm Kid Flash! Why are here? Is Batman your caretaker?" Of course, Kid Flash was speed talking, so Robin caught none of what the Speedster had just said. Looking over at Batman, Robin said something none of the others could understand.

"Tati, de ce Kid Flash vorbește atât de repede? Și ce a spus?" (Daddy, why is Kid Flash talking so fast? And what did he just say?)

To everyone's surprise and horror, the Dark Knight chuckles at the boy, before responding in the same language, a look of understanding spreading itself across Robin's face. However, Robin then became closed off, yet again looking shy and nervous.

Noticing this, Batman, covered Robing with his cape again, trying to avoid a panic attack. "You must excuse Robin. He has recently experienced something no child should experience. I need to go off world for a mission, you are in charge of him."

The team looked shocked, and finally Aqualad voiced their concerns. "Batman... we mean no disrespect, but he is just a child. I do not believe we would be able to take care of him properly. Especially since it appears that he does not speak English very well."

The Dark Knight growls at them, feeling the shaking of the young boy against his leg. "He will be fine. You just need to be careful around him. Robin understands English, but he can't speak it quite yet. All you need is patience."

With that, Batman releases his leg from Robin's grip and heads towards the Zeta Beams. With a flash of light and a Batman - 02, the team was left alone with a young, injured boy who was starting to hyperventilate.
