Rhett's POV

We had been in this cave for a few days. It wasn't too horrible, but every waking second, I missed Jessie, Locke, Shepherd, and Link even more. Our right ankles were tied to the wall, immobilizing us. They gave us small cups of water and a piece of bread twice a day as our meals.

"Mom, I'm so hungry. Will they ever give us more than this tiny amount of food?" Lincoln asked as he gestured to the food that had just been given to us.

"Oh honey, I don't think so. We'll get out of here soon, okay. Either we'll find a way out, or your father will find a way to save us. Just hang in there until that moment comes. It won't be too much longer," Christy said and gave Lincoln a hug.

"Here, Lincoln. Take mine. I don't really have much of an appetite," I said and pushed my bread over to him.

"Are you sure, Rhett? I'll be alright," Lincoln said.

"I'm sure. I want you to have it. You need it more than I do. Go ahead," I said and gave him a small smile.

"Thanks, Rhett," Lincoln said and began to dig into the stale bread.

"Lily, are you alright?" I asked.

She was staring off into the distance, not eating or speaking. As soon as I addressed her, she jolted and looked at me with wide eyes.

"Uh... yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Sorry," Lily apologized before falling silent once more.

I looked to Christy with concern, asking her to try to get through to Lily. She nodded and scooted to her daughter.

"Lily, you sure you're alright, baby? Are you just scared?" Christy asked and put her arms around Lily.

"He's coming, but he won't make it. He's coming," Lily repeated and suddenly snapped out of it.

"What do you mean 'He's coming'? Who's coming?" Christy asked.

"Mom, what are you talking about? 'Who's coming?" Lily asked with a confused expression.

"You mean you don't know what you just said?" Christy asked.

"No, I don't remember saying anything. Rhett asked me if I was okay and I said I was fine. That's all I said," Lily said and looked around at us with a frightened expression.

She didn't remember saying that at all. Something must have come over her, causing her to say that without knowing. A chill ran down my spine. Lily must have been so confused why we were all staring at her with shocked expressions.

"Lily, you said 'He's coming, but he won't make it. He's coming.' You don't know what you meant?" Christy asked.

"No! That's like, super creepy! Why would I say that? Who's he?!" Lily asked with wide eyes.

"We don't know. We don't know," I said and stared at the ground.

Someone was coming, but he won't make it. Who was coming? Was it good or bad that he wouldn't make it? What did it even mean that he won't make it? Would he die or fail at coming for us? All these questions rushed through my head like a hurricane. I was afraid of what was happening. Very, very afraid.

Link's POV

I woke up on the couch with a blanket wrapped around me. I picked up my glasses and slipped them on my face. I squinted my eyes and looked at the clock. It was after midnight. The Mclaughlins would be asleep already. I sat up and pulled the blanket off my body. I had to get them. I was going to find them and bring them home. I couldn't leave them there any longer. I slowly rose to my feet. Pain shot through my back and my hand went to it for support. I stumbled to the bathroom and fussed with my hair. I couldn't look like a mess, even if I was going out to save my family and blood brother in the middle of the night. I turned around and lifted up the back of my shirt. A big black and blue bruise covered my back. I let go of my shirt and exited the bathroom.
