of love and other unruly beasts

i grip your roots like you are the tree

of life

breathing sanity into my lungs

i grip your roots afraid to let them slip

through my fingers afraid

to lose them

to love them.

my heart is glass and intentions are transparent.

maybe you'll see how good they are

like nothing

                               has ever

                                            been that

                          pure.

i grip your roots

and this day is like the others

where

the days are grey

but the nights

are of stars

And all that is

love

               love

                             love

                lovely

we are lovely

floating in the middle of nowhere

I grip your roots
