the candle's on the windowsill
burning like desire in the
hearts of the youthful
nothing feels more indulgent than
the lips of a careless lover
who is still always truthful
her lip splits when
it makes contact with
his fists that are so very brutal
and his attempt to
make it better after the collision
was oh so futile
because what happens
always dampens love
when the temper is lost
so you pay the cost
of a wild flame
and no more wax left to burn
