-Phil's POV-

After wishing Dan good luck on his first day, I instantly walked the opposite direction. My plan was to hurry to my first lesson, and try not to get the shit beat out of me this morning. But that plan didn't exactly work out, due to Dan running after me.

I quickened my pace, but it was no use. Dan ran up in front of me, so I stopped and looked at him crossing my arms. He looked me in the eyes, then at the floor, then back in my eyes.

I was about to walk around him, but then he spoke up after what seemed like an eternity.

"Could you maybe help me out? I don't know where anything is.."

I looked at him. I didn't know what I was doing... Helping him. He'd probably turn around and start bullying me too. I took his timetable and looked it over.

I was willing to show him to his classes, but I didn't want to be late. Or get beat up in front of Dan. That'd be an awkward first day for him...

"H-how about w-we... Umm. How about we go to the office and ask if I can be your.... Uhh.. Tour guide for the day.. Is that okay?"

He smiled and nodded his head, so we started to the main office. We walked in, and a lady, who I assumed was the secretary, typed away at her keyboard for about three full minutes before giving us a glance.

"Hi I'm Dan, Dan Howell. Umm.. Its my first day and I was just wondering if my friend Phil here could be my tour guide for the day. If that's okay, we just came to get him a pass so he wouldn't get in trouble." Dan said with a warm smile.

Wait.. Friend.. Friend? We've only known each other for roughly twenty minutes.

I smiled at the thought. He called me his friend.

The lady smacked her chewing gum, then opened the drawer next to her. She pulled out a blue sheet of paper, filled out the blank lines and handed it to me. It was a small form explaining that I would be a few minutes late to each class and I would get to leave a few minutes early so I could be a tour guide for a new student.

We thanked her, she wished us luck, and we were on our way.

-----Timeskip--------

After showing Dan to his first three classes, it was time for lunch. Dan and I had the same lunch period, so I asked if he was going to get food. He said he never liked school food, so he would pass. I told him that I never really did anything except for sit in the hallway, and he said that it was no problem and he'd sit with me.

He was probably one of the nicest boys I've met here. But who knows, he could be a total jerk. I have just started assuming that everyone is bad, and just out to hurt others. I made that mindset to protect myself more or less. If I don't trust people and become friends with them, it won't be as bad when they hurt me.

Dan didn't talk much, when he did it was just about small things.
Things were going fine... Until he noticed.

"Um..phil if you don't mind me asking... What happened? There is a bruise on your cheek." he said putting his index finger on the bruise and tracing it.

I backed away so he wasn't touching my cheek anymore and coughed slightly.

"I.. I uhm.. I'm v-very .. Well. I... I'm clumsy?"

He just nodded and looked out the window. I could tell he didn't buy it, but he wasn't pushing me on about it. I was thankful for that.

------------------------

Sorry its been awhile since I updated. I have finals for the next two days, then I'm out for summer... I'm glad I won't be at school, but I really miss my friends. We're gonna be separated for three months 😞😭

I'll update again soon, most likely after finals. Hope you're doing well.
