Bartender, hand me another

Well, you see, bartender
I can't exactly get out of here
My friend dragged me to this bar
And left me for some guy, I fear.

Can I get a shot
Maybe a double, my brother?
My friend the bartender,
Hand me another.

Don't know why she decided
It would be a good thought
To drag a heartbroken mess like me
To find a "guy" that is "hot".

Hey bartender; shoot me an ale
And a beer, another ale rather
And help me drown my sorrows
Bartender, hand me another.

Midnight is for the night life,
A life that obviously isn't mine.
I'm sobbing over drinks at the bar
And everyone else seems just fine.

I'll pour out my life story to you sir,
If you can keep it under cover.
And if you pour me another glass,
Bartender, hand me another.

Ran away at 19,
Looking for love and escape,
But all I got was fear
And stress I can't take.

Escaped the cops with sudden fate
And my hope, they'd always smother
God I'd continue, but first
Bartender, hand me another.

I barely missed jail and punishment
For my suddenly unlawful crime
Of trying to flee from reality
One highway at a time.

And I've failed my family,
My mom, my dad, my brother.
God, I wonder where he is...
Bartender, hand me another.

So now I don't speak to them
The family I once lived so
Because they think I'm dead
'Cause I never come around to show.

My man, I need to stop the drinks
I'll gather my friend and her "lover"
Herds the pay, here's the tip
And buy yourself another.
