Tenrou Island.

"CAIN!" Zoe screamed as she wandered through the rubble left behind from the blast. Tears flowed down her face as she stumbled , disorientated and lost. She was lost , but she didn't care. She had to find him , she needed to find him. "He's not dead , he can't be dead. I'll find him , and he'll have that stupid grin on his face , the one he always had on when he saw me." The thoughts and memories of him raced through her mind so fast she felt dizzy. She tripped over a branch a fell to her knees. She looked down at the ground beneath her hands and knees and sobbed. "Cain..." She whispered as tears fell from her cheeks. "YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME!" She screamed as she lifted her head to the sky. She sat up against a large rock and continued crying as she held herself. "Hi there." A childish voice said. Zoe looked up and found herself staring at a strange grouping of glowing yellow lights. They were of many sizes , but none were bigger than a watermelon. They floated in a formation that resembled that of a small person. "Why are you crying?" The voice , which Zoe realised was female , asked. It took a moment for her to realise , but the voice was coming from the glowing orbs. "W-w-what are you?" Zoe stuttered as she wiped away her tears. "You're looking for someone , yes?" It wasn't so much of a question but a statement. Zoe's eyes widened. "Y-yes , do you know where he is?" Zoe asked as she stood up. The lights began to float away , heading towards the beach. "I don't know if he's the one your looking for , but you two seemed to know each other." She , Zoe now identified the lights as a she , said. Confused , Zoe asked. "What do you mean we seemed to know each other?" The lights seemed to vibrate as they giggled. "During the tournament , you seemed very close. If i had to guess... I would say you were having relationship problems." Zoe began to redden. "Y-you were watching us during the tournament?!" She shrieked , and again , the lights giggled. "I watched everyone during the tournament at some point , but i found the two of you to be very interesting. You harboured deep feelings for each other , and yet you were scared of each other. I was curious as to why." She said. Zoe looked down. "I love him , but he's a Death Dragon Slayer and i'm a Life God Slayer. We are opposing elements , we're bound to fight and hurt each other. That and his Dragon Force is terrifying." Zoe muttered as another tear rolled down her cheek. "Your magic does not define you. He didn't fall in love for you for your magic , and vise versa. But if it is your differences in magic that ruin those feelings for eachother , then there wasn't any love in first place. If you love someone , you love them for all they are." She said. Zoe looked up as tears stopped flowing. "Even their differences?" She asked as she dried he cheeks. The lights stopped moving. A string of orbs that resembled an arm reached out to touch her cheek. "Especially their differences." She said before continuing towards the beach. Zoe began to remember all the times she and Cain had spent together. On their first date they had dinner at one of the best restaurants in the city , then walked through the city gardens. After that they got ice cream. She remembered all the laughing they had done that evening , and how he held her hand as he walked her back to her dorm. And there was that smile he always had when he saw her , whether it was across the room or while the briefly brushed past each other in the hall. She smiled as her memories of him continued to play over and over in her head. But one thing nagged at the back of her head. They had never said that they loved each other. "Well , as soon as i see him again , i will. I'll tell him i love him. Because i do , i love him more than i can say and i need him to know that." She thought to herself. "This way." The lights said , bringing Zoe out of her thoughts. They stood before several paths. Some of them were caves , others had steps leading up the stone ledge before them. The lights had began to float down into the depths of one of the caves , with Zoe now close behind. "So , what are you?" She asked the lights. Silence crept in as they continued to wander further into the cave. "Hey , i asked you a question." Zoe said , annoyed at being ignored. As she followed the lights through the maze like cave , she grew increasingly frustrated. "ARE YOU JUST GOING TO IGNORE ME!" Zoe shouted in anger , only to be ignored again. Zoe was ready to attack the lights the stone. Laying behind the first masters grave was Cain. The small crater he lay in indicated he had landed here after the explosion. Zoe's scream split the air as she saw the condition he was in. He lay still , facing the sky with a large branch protruding from the centre of his chest with a large pool of blood around his body. His eyes were wide open , his left cheek heavily scarred and slightly burnt , and head tilted to the right. He had many other cuts and gashes , but none seemed to have been fatal. "CAIN!" Zoe screamed. She fell to her knees next to his head as fresh tears cascaded down her cheeks. "Nonononono , this can't be happening. You can't die. CAIN YOU CAN'T DIE!" She continued to cry as she held his cold body close to her. "M-maybe he's alive. If he is , i'll just heal him. Yea , i'll heal him and then he'll wake up." She thought. She grabbed the branch and pulled it from him , allowing more blood to flow from the large hole in his chest. Placing her hands over his bloodied body , her hands began to glow with magic power. "Please please please , stay with me. I need you to hear me when i tell you how much i love you. I won't let you die until i can do that." She thought desperately as she chanted spell after spell , trying to close the wound and mend the shredded vitals. Slowly , the wound began to close. New flesh began to creep across the wound as the damaged organs started to repair themselves. "Yes , it's working. It's working!" The wound closed and all his shredded organs were as good as new. She felt his skin again , but it was still cold. "Well , he was dead , it'll probably take a while for him to warm up. Yea that's it." She thought. Turning , Zoe found that mavis was nowhere to be seen. Bringing her attention back to Cain , she sat beside him , waiting for him to wake up. "Come one you stupid idiot , wake up." She sobbed. "WAKE UP!" She screamed at him. Tears fell onto his unmoving face as she cried over him. "Please... I can't do this. I need you. Please , COME BACK TO ME PLEASE!" Her throat was beginning to hurt from all her screaming and her head throbbed. She bent down to touch her forehead to his as tears continued to flow.
