I was riding on that horse for maybe three hours. I watched the sun setting down, the sky turned into an orangish-pink color. I looked behind me several times, knowing that my home and father were long gone. At least an hour ago, the other solder caught up with us and was following us as if the solder that I was riding with was his boss. I felt something wet and cold on my nose, and then my forehead, and then my arm.

"Thunderstorm!" I blurted out. That was the first thing that I said on the horse. "Isn't it dangerous to be riding a horse in a thunderstorm?" I asked him.

He looked back at me for no longer than five seconds, with absolutely no expression on his face, and then looked back to the front of the horse. "The academy isn't much further." He said sternly.

I looked at him annoyed. "That's what you said an hour ago!" I said to him, almost yelling at him.

"Well I mean it this time," he said, and then he pointed straight ahead of him. I saw a huge building that looked more like a wall to me, it looked like at least one mile long. It was a stone gray, and was so shinny it looked as if it were silver.

In about two minutes, the rain began to fall down faster and faster. The water was freezing, it felt like ice on my hands, legs, and arms. My hair was soaking, it was wet, cold, and tangled, I didn't like the feeling what so ever. I closed my eyes to make sure the rain didn't get in my eye. Every time there was thunder, I shook, somehow feeling like after the thunder came, lightning would come next and hit me, but I knew that I was being stupid.

"We're here!" One of the solders blurted out loudly. I assumed it was the solder I was riding with because for one, the voice sounded familiar, and he sounded close to me.

I opened my eyes to find us going through a big brown gate that seemed to be made out of wood. I was relieved when there was no more rain falling, making me wet, not that there was anything to get wet any more.

The solder got off of his horse and lifted me up carelessly, and dropped me on the ground. Because it was without warning, I collapsed onto the ground. The solder grabbed my arm and pulled me off of the the ground. He started to drag me around the so called academy and we turned left, and then right, and then right again until we stopped.

We stopped at a door with multiple locks on it, and then out of nowhere, he swung the door open and then shoved me into the room. I almost fell, but I caught myself before I did. I looked around me and saw three other children, around my age.

"There's no way I'm bunking with her," One of the three blurted out. "She smells like wet dog." He said covering his nose. The boy had black hair and dark brown eyes, almost black like his hair. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants, and so were the two other kids. "But..." He continued. "...you could bunk with Fay." He nodded his head at the girl to his left.

I couldn't say a word, nothing was coming out. I wanted to say something, but I just couldn't.

The girl looked at me with a warm, welcoming smile. "That's fine with me," She shrugged and walked to one of the beds. She gave two light pats on the bottom bed and said, "This is your bed, you okay with that." With wide eyes I nodded in response.

"Well I don't know about you..." A red haired boy blurted out. "... but I'm gonna go get something to eat." The boy said and then left the room.

"Me too," she got up off of the bed and opened the door, before she left she said something, "You coming." I just nodded and followed her out of the room.

Within about two to three minutes of walking, we passed doors and doors and hallways and hallways. We reached a door, and when the girl opened it, without even looking, I knew that there was a lot of people in the room.

When I looked inside of the room, I saw about one-thousand five hundred people in that one huge room. It was probably the loudest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. Just people shouting over one another so that other people can hear them, it's not that I couldn't handle it, but it was still pretty loud.

I saw a line of people with plates, and I saw that one girl motioning her hand to look like she wanted me to come over to her.

I walked over to her and grabbed the plate that she handed to me. The food actually looked pretty good, it was definitely not what I was expecting. I grabbed an orange, an apple, and what seemed to be roasted chicken.

At the end of the line there was another line for a drink I guess. After a long period of time in waiting and it was my turn, I realized that the drink was beer.

I filled my cup and followed the girl who's name seemed to be fay. I followed her to a table where the boys from the room were.

"We are forced to sit with the people from our dorm." She explained to me.

"So, is your name Fay?" I asked curiously, really hoping that I was correct, or else that would have been humiliating.

"Fay or Faya. Personally I prefer Fay, but it really doesn't matter." She replied.

When Fay was done eating she left the room, same with the other two boys. When they left, I left too because I had absolutely no idea where the room that we stayed in was. So I threw out my food, even tho I wasn't finished with my meal, and left the so called dinning room.

When I followed the two boys into the room, I sat on the bed and just waited there. Fay and me talked for an hour or two, we talked about how a lot of people will be coming and going, and what and how they did things here at the academy.

By the time she finished talking, the two boys were fast asleep on there beds. We decided to get dressed to go to bed, and when we did Fraya climbed a latter that connected with my bed to get to her bed.

It was surprisingly easy to go to sleep, it was much better than the one at my home. Sleeping there was so peaceful, even tho we were training to fight in one of the bloodiest blood battle wars so far in history, the beds were still soft and comfy.

I had no idea what to expect tomorrow, what I was going to be doing or maybe even fighting. Nothing could really make the butterflies in my stomach go away, well, except for the bed I was sleeping in.

But then something happened.
