I was just about to go to sleep when I heard knocks on my window-door. It must be Gabi or Eva. Because I live in a bungalow with my parents and my younger brother, they can't just ring the doorbell if it's this late at night. Well, it's nearly morning now anyway. Like 4am! What's up with those girls? I open the glass door to the garden and the two of the jump into my room. "Hello. We're running away, well, like, driving away with Gabi's car. Pack your stuff, Mere. You're comin with us, we're not leaving you here all alone. So come on, pack your stuff, girl!", Eva whispers. She's speaking this quiet cuz she doesn't want to wake my family members up, obviously. "But we gotta go to school tomorrow!"I think out loud. "Seriously? The very first thing you think of is school? If that's the kind of people this system is meant to produce, then it's nearly overdue that you get out of that brainwash-place!", here comes Eva's rebell speech. Gabriella and I have gotten used to it by now."Oh well. School will have to live without our beautiful presence, then", Gabi chuckles. "Sleeping beauty of 2016",Eva mutters. " And where do we get the money for our road trip?"I ask."Duh, stop worrying, you're no fun, Merebear! Don't worry about that!",Gabi laughs with a twinkle in her eyes. " Do you remember when Eva took part in that surfing competition and won that huuuuge sum of money?". "The thousand dollars are in the car.", whispered Eva. I can't believe it. They really want to pull this through."Where our we gonna drive to?" "We're just gonna hit the road, see where the day leads us...a real road trip, Meredith.", Gabi squeals. Oh wow, how come our little glamour chick wants to go on a road trip? "And how did Eva get you to join her?". " Oh, I woul have never let her go alone. Like, she drove me crazy when she disappeared the times before. And you two mean so much to me, I don't want to loose you..."Gabi mutters the last sentence under her breath, as if she was only talking to herself, not to us. I take a deep breath." Ok, then. Give me two minutes to pack. I'll be ready in a second. " I mean, my family will be worried sick, and I don't feel great about missing school. But I do think it would do me good to let go for a while. I can't take the stress of normal life anymore. It feels like I have to find myself again. So, yeah...lets do everything while we're still young.
