I get drawn out of my dreams as I hear something scratching at my window, slowly opening my eyes to see what it is. I turn my head and see it was just a tree branch. As I go to sit up, I get a quick glance at my alarm clock seeing it's already noon.

Man, I slept in that late? I hope Matt didn't call me when I was sleeping. I should probably check.

I rub my eyes to get all the gunk off out of the corners of them before grabbing my phone. As I grab my phone, I kick the covers off my feet and throw my legs over the edge of the bed. When my feet hit the floor, my legs jump back up towards me, wanting the warmth from the blankets again. I reach over and grab a pair of socks I haven't put away yet and put them on.

Am I glad I forgot to put these away. That floor is freezing.

I push the power button on my phone and look at the screen.

Good, no calls from Matt. That means he hasn't decided yet. Maybe I still have a small chance.

I put my feet on the floor again, my socks blocking the freezing wood floor to grab at my feet trying to make me stay in bed. I stand up, get dressed, and walk out to the kitchen, opening the cupboard, grabbing a bowl. I set it on the table as I grab a box of Fruit Loops and look around for a spoon after placing the box next to my bowl. After searching for a little bit, I grab a dirty spoon from the sink, grabbing a soapy sponge with my other hand, turning the water on by using the back of my hand, I scrub the dirty, food covered spoon till I don't see anymore. I put the sponge down after rinsing it off and put the spoon under the water to get the soap off. I then wipe it off on a towel hanging off my stove, putting it on the table. I grab the Fruit Loops and start to pour some in my bowl till I fill the bowl, leaving a small amount left in the bag.

I'm going to have to go to the store later so I can have more food. With how I've been eating lately, I am gonna need it.

I put the cereal on the counter where I grabbed it from and get the milk out of the fridge. When I get to the table, I twist the cap off the milk, pouring it in my bowl. After I finish pouring the milk, I twist the cap back on and put the milk back on the shelf in the fridge. I grab my bowl ,with the spoon, and walk out and sits in my spot on the couch.

Mmmmm, my favorite cereal. I can't believe I let the box get so low. I eat it every morning. Oh, I can go to the mall with Zoe later maybe. I could get a box there.

I dip my spoon in the fruit loops, getting a lot on it before shoving it all in my mouth. I close my eyes as I savor the the sweet sweet taste in my mouth. Putting the spoon back in the bowl to get more, my phone starts to play a tune as I am getting a call from the kitchen. Speed like, I put the bowl, with the spoon, down on the coffee table and rush out to the kitchen, grabbing my phone. Seeing an unknown number, I press the answer button carefully putting it up to my ear.

"Hello?" I say, worried who this is. Hoping its not saying a family member of mine died or something.

"Hello, is this Makayla speaking?" A man with a deep voice asks me. Sounding very familiar for some odd reason.

Maybe its Matt?

"U-Um, yes, it's Makayla, who is speaking?" I ask, trying not to stutter like I always do when I get nervous.

"This is Matt, I'm calling about your interview." He states, as if he has done this a million times before, like he probably has.

"Oh! I've been waiting for your call!" I shout a little too excitedly for my own liking.

"Well, I have some really good news! You have got the job!" He says in a steady tone, not doing what I did.

A sigh escapes me as a lot of tension leaves my body as I quickly say, "Oh, I did? Thank you so much for hiring me!" to not sound like a weirdo.

I hear a chuckle and can hear happiness in his voice. "We all would be glad to let you know, you will be starting work in two days, on Monday at 9 sharp."

"I won't be late, you can count on me!" I say, controlling how I say it to not sound like a psycho. I don't want him thinking its a bad choice he hired me, right?

"Okay, we will have someone help you for your first couple days so you can get the hang of it, bye!" I hear him shuffle a little bit  and before I can say bye, my phone beeps, telling me the call has ended.

Oh my god. I got the job. I got the freaking job!! I have to tell Zoe!!

I unlock my phone now, going into my contacts. I search through them till I find Zoe, near the bottom of the list, and press her name. I put my phone up to my ear and listen as I hear the ringing, waiting for her to answer.

As soon as she answers, before she could say hi, I start to shout into the phone."Zoe! I got the job! They said I start Monday! They actually gave me the job!!"

I hear Zoe give a soft squeal. "Makayla! Stop yelling! You are gonna make me go deaf! And if I go deaf, I wouldn't be able to share special moments with you!"

Was I really being that loud? Oops!

"Sorry Zoe, I'm just really happy! I thought I wasn't going to get it!" I say as my voice squeaks here and there.

"It's fine, it's, but I'm so happy for you! You finally got a job! It's been a while!" She tells me, excitement filling her voice.

"Yeah, I know! I will have to get some nice clothes for it though. Which reminds me, could you maybe go shopping with me at the mall or someplace later?" I ask, remembering my cereal almost gone.

"Yeah, sounds fun! I need to go out too, been home for so long now, caring for my brothers and all, you know how that goes, haha." She says. She lives with her mom still, having to care for her brothers because her mom wont do so with all the jobs she has. She is only a month older than I am but isn't as ready for a job yet. She had one before, but that didn't go well.

"Okay, I guess I will see you later then?" I give a quick glance at the stove, seeing its only about 12:30. "How about around three?"

"Sure, sounds great! See you then!" She says before I tell her bye and press the red button, ending the call.

I walk back out to the living room, sitting back down on the couch. I grab my bowl of cereal and begin to eat it again. Taking twice as big of scoops before, trying to save my cereal from getting all soggy. I hate soggy cereal. Almost as I do almost with getting feet put on me.

The thought of sweaty feet on me make me choke on the cereal in my mouth before I swallow it. I decide to think about something else till I'm done with my food.
