"Come On Cara... " , "Were are going to Miss the Flight ". I could here my best friend (who is also like my sister) yell from the front of the line.
I couldn't help but smile at her. My best friend of four years Tessa, Tessa Stone. Always the one to plan ahead of time to avoid confusion and complication (mostly because I always make her later)..
"Coming Tessa.. calm down. We still have 30 min left" , " NO we don't If you are going to walk in that pace" she all but screamed.
Finally we check -in , found our places and settled down . I can see that she has calmed down. I don't know how she still stays my friend after all the trouble i've put her through these four years.But she was there for me when I was down and lost all hope in life. She was there for me when I was sick. She was der for me when i needed her the most. She was always der for me. and always will be. Like I will always be der for her.
The first time I met Tessa was in our university dorm. Being the new girl I was struggling with my books and baggage . Among all the onlookers , she was the only one who came forward to help me out.
By the time she showed me my dorm room , we became good friends. and within a few days best friends.
"Hey Tess", no reply
"Tess" is called poking her shoulder. Still no reply .I realized that she is angry.
"I'm Sorry Tess"
"Don't do that ever again" she said glaring at me. I smiled "Ok but you know it is difficult for me to be on time"
"Ya ya, i know . even after getting up at 5 in the morning, you couldn't be on time. And i still don't know why you take so much time" , she sighs.
" OK Ok , now tell me. Does your family know that I am coming with you" , "Yes, I told them yesterday, and everyone is eager to meet the girl I talk so much about. But a Fair warning,my brother Holt can be a handful. If he says anything rude please don't take it to heart. recently he's become more and more harsh and rude"
" Oh you don't worry, I'll take care of that".
"I hope u will "
**After a long journey we reached Sunnyvale,Texas , Tessa's Hometown
Outside the Airport ,
"Come on Cara, lets go"
I couldn't Take my eyes of the sight in front of me. A small town with people busy rushing here and there. This is my first time to a county and i loved every second of it.
As we continued towards the ranch , the green grass started disappearing and all we could see was barren land on both sides. After 20 min drive we reached an ark with the name ' Double Doe Ranch' Embossed on it", The name as itself beautifully carved in very fine wood.
At last we see the homestead. Double storied with glass balconies. you can say it looked like a modern version of the normal homestead in any ranch.
As we got down we could see Three people waiting for us . Two with big smiles on their faces and one with a grim frown.
The surrounding was stunning. nothing like the barren land we saw while coming. both pleasant and alluring.
This when I realized that it is going to be one heck of a holiday. In this place I can forget what happened. I can truly be happy for once in my life .
With these thoughts I got out of the car looking at Tessa as she ran into the arms of the old man in his mid fifties who can only be her father.
