I stood outside Patsy's front door, hand outstretched for the doorknob. I didn't want to open it and ask for Ella, but I knew I had to. Eventually. Just then I heard someone singing, and I looked around. No one was in sight. The singing didn't stop. I walked slowly and cautiously around the house to their garden and found a blonde figure a few feet away from me. "Ella?" She turned around, holding a brown bunny in her hand.

"Hey Lilly! Look at this cute bunny!"

"It's very cute. Listen, I've found someone who can give us a place to stay. And he told us to go now."

"Now? But.." Ella looked around. "It's too dark!"

"I know, but I don't think that he'll be wanting to wait until morning. So let's go." Ella looked away, biting her lip.

"I don't think I'll go."

"What? You.. You're just going to stay here?"

"Well. Yes. I don't want to leave now. I can leave later... Just not now."

"But Ella..."

"I'll go with you tomorrow. Not today."

"I won't be around at this time tomorrow Ella!"

"Can't you? You can just show up can't you?" I bit my own lip.

"I don't know!" I threw my arms into the air after a long minute of thinking about it. "I don't know where I'll be because he never said where!"

"More the reason for me to stay here. You go on ahead, return tomorrow and I'll come with you." After fighting with myself on whether not I should drag her with me, I gave in.

"Fine. But I want you to stay here, at Patsy's house and I do not want for you to go anywhere else."

"I shall remain here. Until tomorrow." She curtsied.

"Until tomorrow." I echoed, curtsying.

Little did I know that I wouldn't get to see her at all tomorrow.

"Ah you're here, finally. Where is your sister?"

"She's not coming."

"No? Is she safe where she is?"

"I suppose."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"None of your business. Where am I going?" I asked instead. He narrowed his eyes at me.

"A place you're going to find out about when you get there."

"Oh boy, a surprise." I rolled my eyes as Mr Ambrose gestured me towards the carriage. I got in and he shut the door behind me. "What, you're not coming?"

"No. I have work to do and where you're off to will waste a lot of my time."

"Of course." I muttered. "Well.. Thanks."

"Driver? You know where to go. Take her."

"Yes sir!" And then I was off.

It wasn't a full blown carriage ride. I ended up at a dock and told to board a ship to "the ol' North" as the driver said. On the boat, there was another man named Henry, who made sure that I got to my destination - wherever it was.

Two days passed and I found myself in a place I'd never been to before. I didn't recognize anything and there were people milling about, talking erratically. It was light outside, as if dawn had just begun, which it probably had. Clouds covered the little sun that was partially visible.
