Please Help Me (a Doctor Who fanfic)

Chapter 9

Doctor's *POV*

"You would call me the lord president back on gallifrey."

"Doctor? Are you still in there?" Realizing i had spaced out I nodded my head.

"Uh, yeah sorry, I-I just can't, what do you mean? How can this be? How did you survive the time war? I don't know how this is possible. This can't be possible." I was rambling, I still couldn't believe it.

"Hey, hey slow down, breath, I know it's a lot to take in but just stop." I nodded and started taking slow shallow breaths the shock getting to me which never happens.

"I just need a minute to process this information, go back to the TARDIS please." They both nodded and headed off in the direction of the TARDIS.

I fumbled in my pocket for her fob watch. How did she remember who she was without even looking at it?

Also, her name Pondak it sounds familiar to me. Think, think! Pondak, where is that from? Where do I know her from?

Oh my, I remember. She, she was my best friend. I thought she was dead. She went missing and I never saw her again.

Pondak's *POV*

"Would you like to be called Aveala or Pondak?" I thought for a second.

My old name reminded me of my time on Gallifrey. I don't know about my Earth name. It reminds me of all that I went through with my 'family'.

"Pondak please, the other name is just an Earth name, I have no use for it now." Rose nodded and continued walking.

"So that thing that you called yourself, the lord president? What does that mean?" How do I explain this to her?

"Well, you have a queen, also other countries have a president, or prime minister, or dictator. Take all of those and put them together and you get me." She looked confused but didn't ask anymore questions.

"I was over everything that happened on Gallifrey well when it was still up and running." I paused to take a breath, careful of my words.

"I was the reason the time war started." Shame filled me, I regret every decision I ever made as lord president.

"It was my fault and I would give anything to take it back." Her eyes were soft and forgiving.

"What happened?" We had made it back to the TARDIS. "Can we sit out here? I don't want her to listen to our conversation.

"Her?" I nodded. "Yeah the TARDIS, I don't want her listening."

"It was back when Gallifrey was at the height of its existence. I was ruling and everything was great. Until Davros came. He wanted me to help him take over the universe. He wanted me to join forces with him. The Time Lords and Daleks the most unstoppable force ever."

"I refused, I wouldn't work with the Daleks no matter what. They wanted to wipe out whole races. They would bring the end of time. I couldn't stop it. They came before we could prepare. The war went on for years. Lots of people died, good people. They all died because of me, because I said no. If I would've said yes they would still be alive."

Tears were falling freely now and I didn't want to talk about it anymore not until the Doctor comes back.

"I'm sorry, I just I don't want to talk about it anymore. Can we wait for the Doctor to come back?" Rose nodded.

"Yeah, it's okay, it's not your fault." Her voice was laced with concern.

Third person *POV*

Rose and Pondak were sitting outside of the TARDIS. Rose was twirling her blonde hair around her finger nervously waiting for the Doctor.

Pondak was staring at the ground. Tears were still slowly falling down her face.

The Doctor was still walking by himself trying to process the information he was just told.

A sound notified Pondak that there was someone around. She, not knowing any better, thought it was the Doctor.

"Doctor? I'm sorry to tell you so straight up but I needed to get it out." A deep chuckle came from the direction of the sound.

"Oh no, I'm not the Doctor. I'm not as pleasant as the Doctor." The owner of the deep voice stepped out of the shadows.

"Who are y-" Two men had appeared behind them and put their hands over their mouths.

"No, no, no, you don't ask the questions." Rose bit the hand of the man.

"Doctor!" She screamed at the top of her lungs before the man had his hand back on her mouth.

Doctor's *POV*

"Rose! Where are you!" I heard her scream but I don't know if I can get there in time.

I run towards the TARDIS. I turn the corner.

"No! Rose! Pondak!" I look just in time to see three men. One was holding Rose one Pondak.

I started to run towards them but they disappeared. Into thin air. That isn't possible.

They have Rose, and Pondak and I won't stop until I find them.
