Preference #7- Car Accident (Part 1)
Harry - You were just lying around your apartment in your pyjamas, expecting a Skype call from Harry any minute. Even though he was 2000 miles away he'd promised to talk to you on your 2 year anniversary. And so you waited, slowly watching the time tick by on the clock in your shared kitchen. The pots and pans had hardly been touched since he left, leaving you to get take out rather than risk burning down the flat. That was one of the things that made you ache for him most while he was away, coming home with a brown Nando's bag for one instead of the delicious meals your curly-haired boyfriend would make when he finished recording for the day. Instead of the typical Skype song ringing through your apartment, the ringtone of your phone echoed through the empty flat, startling you slightly. You picked it up gingerly, not particularly in the mood to speak to anyone except Harry. "Hello?" you asked quietly, leaning your chin on the heel of your hand. "(Y/N)? It's Paul" he replied quickly, sounding incredibly rushed. "Sorry to be so blunt, but Harry came back to London to surprise you" you heart fluttered in your chest, but the edge to his voice caused a cold sweat to break out across your brow. "Paul, what's going on?" "Harry's been in a car accident. We're not sure - " "I'll be there in 10 minutes"
Louis - "Louis William Tomlinson! Get back here now!" You shouted, at the moment incredibly relieved that your judgement wasn't clouded with the haze of alcohol. "Come on, (Y/N)!" he slurred, arms flailing wildly as he tried to walk along the top of the gutter next to the footpath you were using to get back to his place. "It's fun, you should try it!" "Lou, I'm serious. You're going to fall over" you warned, extending an arm to grab his elbow to steady him as he wobbled dangerously on one leg. "No, I'm not!" he snapped back, trying to wrench his arm out of your grasp. "You're such a fucking killjoy" Louis managed to pull free, but the extra effort sent him flying off balance. He stumbled into the busy road, trying to remain vertical. "Louis!" You screamed and he turned to face you just as an oncoming car collided with him. His body when floppy as he rolled onto the hood, smashing the windshield with the force. The squeal of tires echoed on the brick buildings as the Land Rover squealed to a stop, sending your boyfriend flying back onto the asphalt, Louis' head hitting the ground with a sickening crunch.
Liam - You didn't even see it coming. You were about to make your right hand turn safely from your lane when out of nowhere a car came screaming through the intersection, slamming right into the side of your brand new BMW. The collision jostled your car, pushing you into the centre of the intersection. Your heart faltered in your chest as you stared out the front window, mind too shaken with shock to even react to the accident. The other driver, taking advantage of the deserted street, reversed and took off, tires spinning out as they disappeared down the road. Slowly, you shaking fingers searched through your bag for the cold glass screen of your phone. "(Y/N)? Where are you?" Liam asked casually when he answered your call. "I - I don't know....Li I'm..ah" you stuttered, whole body shivering with shock. "Babe, what's happened? You don't sound right" "Someone...someone hit my car - I'm stuck in the middle of an intersection" you murmured, volume growing in your voice as tears started to well up in your eyes. "I don't....I don't know what to do" you cried, water tracking down your face. "Babe, it's okay. Just stay on the phone with me and I'll come find you" you nodded, knowing full well that he couldn't see the gesture. "Just stay calm, love. You're going to be fine"
Zayn - The white snow whipped across the windscreen of Zayn's car. The storm had only been getting worse the whole drive home and it was really starting to worry Zayn. "Maybe I should pull over, love. I can hardly see through this blizzard" you pulled your jacket tighter around you and pulled your knees to your chest. "It'll be fine, Zayn. We're nearly home anyway" you murmured, closing your eyes as you cuddled further into the seat. Zayn looked at you uneasily, but continued driving, hands slick on the leather steering wheel. The wheels underneath began to slide slightly on the patches of road that were being overcome with thick ice. "Babe, I really think we should stop" he pressed, slowing down slighty. An irritated groan escaped your throat as you shot him a pointed look. "Zayn, we're about 10 minutes until we get to the hotel. If we stop now we'll be snowed in. Just keep driving" you said through gritted teeth. Zayn blew out a puff of air in frustration. "Okay, but I swear to God - " Before he even had a chance to finish his sentence the tires rumbled over a slick patch of eyes, sending the car drifting uncontrollably across the glassy surface. Zayn grasped the wheel, trying to hold it in place but it was no use. The car slid off the paved road and tipped over the edge, rolling down a small hill. A scream escaped your throat as your passenger window exploded under the pressure, sending shards of glass flying into your face. Metal buckled with each roll, crunching and throwing your forwards and backwards until your head hit the metal door frame. And everything went black.
Niall - "Come on, come on" Niall muttered under his breath as he fiddled with the dials of his car's radio, trying desperately to find the right station. Sudden;y the roars of football fans filled the small interior and Niall cheered in celebration. One thing that Niall tried the hardest in world to avoid - missing Derby games. There was only ten minutes left and the score was tied 2-2, so the tension at the match was palpable through the stereo. "Niall, come on turn it down" you suggested lightly, texting your mother to tell your parents what a wonderful time you'd had with them at dinner. "It's really loud" "But I've got to hear the score, Princess!" he shouted teasingly over the din of the football. A roar exploded through the speakers, causing the two of you to jump in your seats. You rolled your eyes but Niall became frantic, fiddling with the volume controls. "What happened?! For fucks sake what just happened?!?!" he yelled, taking his baby blue eyes off the road. "Niall, road!" You shouted, and he looked up just in time to see your car heading into the other lane. Niall yanked the wheel the other way, but it was too much and the car toppled, rolling wheels over roof down the road, slowly coming to a stop. Breathing ragged and heart racing Niall looked over to your crumpled figure in the passenger seat, crushed glass stuck to your clothes like tiny diamonds. "Princess, are you okay?" But there was no reply. (AN: Part 2 coming soon babes!)
