Vanessa woke up to her phone buzzing. She opened her eyes and turned on the lamp next to her bed. It was 3:00 am. Who could be calling at this time? The phone glowed showing the name “Keisha”. Vanessa looked next to her side. No, Keisha was not sleeping beside her. How could Keisha still be out, it was 3 in the morning.

Vanessa picked up the phone. She let out a slow “Hello” through her lips. Her body was shaking.

“Vanessa?” Keisha asked, she was sobbing “I need you to come and pick me up from the police station. And don’t tell Mom and Dad!” she hanged up immediately.

Police Station? Vanessa thought to herself. How could Keisha end up at a police station from a bonfire party? What could she have done? Without wasting any more time, Vanessa quickly put on a baggy       t-shirt over her white tank top, and a pair sweat pants over her pink pajama shorts.

Vanessa ran down her stairs slowly, without making any noise, so that her parents wouldn’t wake up. She took out her mom’s car keys out of the kitchen drawer. And she quietly went out the backdoor, closing the door slowly behind her.

The police station was filled with people the same age as her sister. Everybody was being questioned by different types of cops. It didn’t take time for Vanessa, to find her sister. Keisha had a very loud voice and a very stubborn attitude. Vanessa found Keisha quarrelling with a cop.

“BUT I DIDN’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE DRUGS!” Keisha exclaimed to the cop who was questioning her.

“But Ma’am you were present in the party where drugs were being sold. So how do you consider yourself innocent?” the cop asked patiently.

“I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT! I WAS JUST INVITED TO THE PARTY!” Keisha said to the cops. She turned her to face away from the cop. “Vanessa?” Keisha let out, as she saw her sister standing there.

Vanessa was shocked. She had no idea that her sister was held for being involved for drugs. Keisha got up from the chair she was sitting on and went and hugged her sister.

“Oh Vans, thank God you’re here!” Keisha told her sister. She pulled away from her sister and said “Now, can you please tell the cop that I don’t take drugs and that I belong to a decent family.” Keisha looked toward the cop.

“Ma’am, is this lady related do to you?” the officer asked.

“Yes, Sir, she is. Keisha is my sister.” Vanessa told the cop.

“And do you agree to the fact that she is not involved in drugs?”

Vanessa was silent. She didn’t know what to say. She, herself wasn’t sure whether her sister was involved in drugs or not.

“Tell him, Vanessa! Tell him that I have never even seen drugs in my life, and that I wasn’t involved in whatever happened in the party.” Keisha exclaimed

“Yes, Sir. My sister is innocent. She left home to go to a bonfire party not a drug sale. And now Sir, if you will please let her go. Our parents must be worried by now, if they found out we both were out this late.” Vanessa explained in a very sophisticated manner.

“Very well then, you can leave. But beware next time. I’m leaving you this time for your sister but next time I won’t let you go. Miss. Keisha please come with me. There are some paper work, which you can complete and then leave.” The officer said directing Keisha to nearby table that had piles of paper stacked on it.

Vanessa stood next to Keisha as she did the paperwork. Vanessa looked around the place. She saw how everyone was trying to prove their innocence. She was staring at this boy who kept saying that he had’nt known about the drugs at the party. She had some questions that needed answers from Keisha. Vanessa turned her head toward the door when she noticed a boy sitting on a bench next to the door. He was trying to talk to the officer but the officer wouldn’t budge. She looked up and saw that the boy’s face was familiar. He was wearing a blue t shirt and yellow shorts that looked slightly wet. Identifying the boy, she said,
