I was going to kill Isaac.

After waking up and finding out he was gone, I knew he had went to find Erica and Boyd. All summer I helped him with the search; it's just this time he went all alone. Melissa then sent me a text that he was at the hospital with claw marks and cuts all over him.

When I opened the door to Isaac's hospital room, his eyes widened and he knew he was in trouble.

"Listen before you–"

"I'm not going to yell at you," I interrupt him. "Not yet anyways, but you do know that you could've gotten yourself killed out there by the new alpha pack? We always went together so we could protect each other."

Isaac sighs, "I know...last time you almost got hurt though. If you ever died, I wouldn't know what to do with my life."

I shook my head and pulled a chair next to his bed. My hand grabbed his and I squeezed it a little.

"Just – please don't do that ever again."

Isaac nods and plants a kiss on my hand. Over the summer we've grown closer, almost to the point where I can say I love him. I would – right now in fact – but there's one thing that's holding me back; Scott. Ever since the night he told me he liked me, things have been so different between us. I would catch him staring at me from across the dinner table. Isaac thankfully has been oblivious to Scott's interest in me; lets just hope it stays like that.

"Hello Isaac," A lady walks into the room. Probably to take Isaac for treatment, although he doesn't need it. "And you are?"

"Kayla, I'm his girlfriend."

"Well Kayla, you may have to leave. How are you feeling Isaac?"

"Good, listen I think I could probably just–" The nurse puts her hand on Isaac's shoulder and stops him.

I stand up and watch curiously as to what's going on. She puts a syringe of something into his IV bag.

"What is that?" Isaac asks.

"Just an anesthetic," She turns around and looks at me. "You need to leave."

My protective-girlfriend mode kicks in and I cross my arms. "I'm not leaving him."

"So stubborn," She muttered turning towards me. "Get out now."

"Kayla's staying," Isaac began to sit up, but sat back down. "Why do I feel dizzy?"

I walk towards Isaac, but the nurse (or whatever the hell she is) pushes a syringe into my neck. After a few seconds, she's reeling Isaac out of the room and I pass out on the floor. There was something I saw though when I hit the floor. Claws.

"Hey, hey Kayla wake up."

I finally managed to somewhat open my eyes, but wanted to close them immediately when I saw Scott standing above me.

"Are you okay? Where's Isaac?" Scott puts his arms around me and picks me up.

I try and remember what happened before I passed out. "He was going into surgery, but the nurse – she had claws. The stuff she gave Isaac made him pass out, which she gave me too."
