A familiar voice behind me said calmly “Oh, Emily Smith, you are not alone.”

I whipped around to face the still nameless boy who seemed to follow me everywhere. I reached to my ear and disconnected the Bluetooth piece.

“What are you doing here?” I cried loudly.

“Checking out Paris at night. What are you doing here?” his cool voice matched the night air.

“Like you don’t know.”

“True.” he paused for a few seconds and leaned on the railing slightly. “You know, I was hoping you’d bring me my jacket back.”

“Nope, sorry. I was still hoping that you wouldn’t be following me around the world. My bad.” I stomped towards the elevator and started to tap my foot and wait for it to come back. It should have been here by now.

“The elevator isn’t coming.” he walked over to me.

“What. Did. You. Do?”

“Oh, it wasn’t me. It was David. Uh, the other David.”

“He’s here too?”

“Yeah, I’m surprised your friend Christina hasn’t mentioned anything. He’s been following her around like a little puppy dog. Now, me? I’m a little bit more understated.”
I rolled my eyes and started to walk around the third floor. I leaned over on the railing and looked out at downtown Paris.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” the boy was suddenly right beside me and I scooted over slightly.

“Why are you here?”

“Are you saying you don’t want me to be here?” he put his hand on his chest and faked hurt.

“That’s exactly what I’m saying.”

“Well, you're just going to have to deal with it. The elevator is broken you know.”

I huffed loudly. He was reaching my last nerve.

“If you’re going to follow me around the globe can I at least know your name?” I turned to face him.

“I told you last time. That information is classified.”

“Your ego should be classified.” I murmured.

“What?”

“Nothing! Okay!”

“Geesh. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the Eiffel tower.”

“Oh, ha ha ha.” Sarcasm had became my best form of defense.

“What's your problem?”

We stood straight up and faces each other.

“You're my problem. You're driving me crazy!” I was almost screaming.

He stepped closer to me and I could feel his body heat. “I drive you crazy?” he whispered to me.

“Uh, um.” I was stuttering uncontrollably.

He brushed a lock of hair out of my face and smiled warmly. I didn't move. We locked eyes and I stared into his beautiful green eyes I'd only briefly seen in moments like this. A small click noise came from the elevator as it arrived and the doors came slowly open. He leaned over to whisper in my ear and he sent chills down my spine.

“We'll have to pick this up later. I believe that's your elevator.” He stepped back from me and walked to the other side of the viewing area and out of sight.. My feet seemed to move by themselves and I was in the elevator and descending before I started to breathe again. Before the elevator reached the second floor I stuck the Bluetooth in my ear again.
