I've not spend a lot of time in South Coloma, I'd usually go there for my summer vacations, but I never really enjoyed the climate. Especially the town owned by my parents. It was a mountainous region, carpeted with greenery, it rained there almost throughout the year. While most wolves would love to live in a place like that, filled with forest, it was surely the closest you could ever get with nature, However I never really fancied it.

I always wanted to come to a place like this, walk barefoot on the beach, tan myself (naturally, not like those fake tans those skuts in college get), wear summer clothes, Play outdoors, no moisture in the air around...it's wonderful. Even in the United States I lived in a town which was cold almost throughout the year. At least this seems like a good place to die. If only this could happen after I had completed what I had come for.

The drive to Beta Bleidd's house was a five minute wolf run! I wonder why they wanted to drive me down here in this closed jeep. It only slightly we'd us down. The mansion was huger than the one I've been living in. At least five times bigger, but still not like a castle. At the door step was Scarlett, the princess herself to greet me, along with a man who might be a year older to her, he was tall and lean, which messy blonde hair and hazel eyes. I'm guessing he must be the Beta, I could smell the authority in the wolf, however his blood wasn't an Alfa's.

He tightened his grip on her waist, as his eyes were locked to mine, observing every step I took, trying to read what's in my mind, looking as though I was a predator, that did boost my ego a bit though, He clenched his jaw in anger.

'Seems like the award for the suckiest wanna be Edward Cullen goes to none other than beta Bleidd, I tried to keep my expression as neutral as possible, just to annoy the shit outta him. I didn't want him to read my expression or to think that his though looks had any effect on me.

"Don't worry Blu, she won't hurt me." Scarlett chirped in her soft voice. "Blu?" I stifled a laughter. Who calls someone that! I doubt anyone could take a beta with that name seriously. Wait a minute why did She sound so confident about me not being able to harm her.

What was she so confident about? My I capability of hurting her, or her ability to fight back! What ever it is, she's wrong, but I don't plan on letting her, or anyone knowing that any time soon. "We need to talk!" She said in a 'no nonsense' kinda way. "What happened to her sunshine and rainbow attitude?" since I'm already in trouble I might as well say what I want.

We walked to some place which looked like her office, or library, it surely has hell was formal. The room was furnished with dark wood, which complimented the beige walls. "Have a seat." She pointed towards a chair, while she went across the table to sit on the one opposite to mine.

"Now... Juana, tell me something about yourself. I've gone through your passport, and your phone. I know you came from the United States. We've checked the data of the World Wolf Organisation, but they don't seem to have any data available. So I'm guessing your a rogue...but I can't ignore the fact that you came from the South Colomian borders." She said. Wow how did I forget that, but I need to calm down...they wouldn't be able to trace me.

"You're right. I'm an American citizen. I don't have any family except for my grandmother who has been hospitalised for quite some time now. And as for how did I reach the mountains that night, I have no idea. I don't even remember what happened." I lied. Obviously there was no way I'd be telling her the truth, and lying to her about losing my memory seemed to be a better option than giving her false information.

"Why aren't you registered in the WWO?" She came a little forward, placing both her hands on the table.

"How did you know I was a werewolf?" I asked her. I couldn't tell her the truth, so I tried to be as calm and composed as possible. The fact that she can't hear my heart rate increase is surely an advantage.

"Got to know as a kid...didn't know what was happening though. My grandma is a human being and every time I'd try explaining that I would shift in the night, she'd tell me I was dreaming. I didn't know about WWO until recently, since other wolves consider me a human being. And I do realise I'd be a freak show between all of them considering I'm different, logically speaking." The reasons that I gave were all true, so even though they weren't really my reasons, it isn't a lie. Is it?

"Well, you sure are different." She said, but it wasn't like my pack members said it. She said it with fascination unlike them, who said it with aversion.

"Now... If you don't mind, could you tell me what exactly happened near the hydra mountains that night?" I asked her.

"Well, you were the first person in eight years to have crossed the border without getting caught. Usually once people get caught on the border, they are killed without even being questioned, until they're humans. In that case, there are a few procedures we follow before getting them executed." I couldn't believe how the petite little princess, sitting in front of me, could so casually talk about killing innocent people, without even flinching.

"I don't understand...how did you know I am a werewolf?" I don't remember shifting. And there's no way she could know that by the werewolf scent. Because I don't have that. Life would've been different if I just smelled like a wolf. I'd never fall in love with him, knowing I'd have a mate. Probably wouldn't even know him.

" I wasn't there, and other wolves got to you much later....you know you were attacked by eight of our Betas near the waterfall? You were in our territory. There was an annual pre Alfa meet which took place there and that's when one of the Alpa's saw you, he initially thought you were a human who tried trespassing from your country and tried to arrest you that's when you tried to resist.

You put down an Alfa in his wolf form. I brought you to one of the pack doctor of the state who happens to be my relative. And I got you treated. Do you know how strong you are? it took five alfas and and eight betas to put you down, and only because they were backed with silver bullets and you still managed to survive.

One of them died on the spot and one is really critical and is yet to be discharged from the hospital. Now the King is in search of you. Your lucky one of the betas is my mate, I made sure that nobody knew about this, and they were given direct orders by me, not to inform the king about it."

"Why?" I asked, cluelessly.

"Why you survived or why were you at the waterfall?" She asked, looking puzzled.

"Why did you save my life, I was clearly trespassing your territory." I said.

"My father would have gotten you executed! You killed the best Alfa he had and injured the others."

"And you don't want that?" I asked. She might have some motive behind this, that I'm sure but what could it be! I'm just an ordinary freak show of a wolf.

"Oh...don't get me wrong Miss Juana, I don't want you dead, however my Mate is the Beta of the Alpha you killed. He's been living with the guilt of not being able to protect his Alpha, and that surely upsets me. Anyway, he's going to have his say sooner or later.

The king has his men looking all around the country for you. While I'm trying my best to keep you away from all of it, I know it's only a matter of time before he gets to know. The ones protecting you are some poor wolves who are doing this only because of husband and I but end of the day their loyalties lie with the King. You have a week. I'm responsible for your well being for seven more days. So enjoy them while you can. Oh, and do cooperate with my cousin Caleb until then, he's a good kid" She said, and sat back.

"I still don't understand why your helping me."

"Nobody can smell your wolf...and there's only one other wolf in this whole world I know just like that. You might have your reasons for coming here, Miss Juana, but I have my own for keeping you here...at least for the time being." She added smiling at me. "Now, I hope you like spaghetti and meatballs." She added before walking out of the room leaving me stunned. I thought I was the only one...
