"Oh you must be Juana, Her highness Princess Scarlett's friend from the United States." I was sitting in a temple with Caleb, when a little girl walked towards us, directed her question towards me. She seemed like she might be in sophomore year, but I wasn't sure.

She was a short brunette, with a heart shaped face, her straight mid length hair were braided, she had perfect sky blue eyes with a cute turned up nose and full lips. She was the perfect IT girl material except for the hair and glasses, but surprisingly there was no trace of makeup on her face. I bet she'd make a good cheerleader in my university, if not for the thick framed glasses.

"Caleb told me he was showing you around town since the Princess is busy preparing for our highness Prince Elijah to arrive. Oh I'm sorry for being so rude. My name is Candice Murray."  As soon as she told me her last name I realised who she was. She was the Alpha's Daughter whom I had killed, and i couldn't help feel guilty. Now that I look at her clearly, her puffy eyes were prominent even through the glasses she wore.

I looked at Caleb, who couldn't get his eyes off Candice. He surely seemed concerned about her. In so many days, Caleb never mentioned about Alpha Murray. Never did he look at me the way Bleidd and the guards looked, filled with anger and hatred. Even yesterday after our lunch with the princess, he didn't seem to be judgemental or try to ask me, why I did it. That did make me feel uncomfortable, but even if he did ask me, I'd have no answer, because I myself don't know what had gotten into me. I can't remember a single thing.

"Hi" I said hesitantly, not knowing what else to say. Usually in a situation like this you'd say 'I'm sorry for your loss' but I can't really say that, knowing that I'm the reason she doesn't have her father.

"Hey." She said, looking at Caleb, and tried her best to put on a smile. She tried to put on a brave front, it's somethings we alpha blood are taught since childhood, but  she didn't seem to be handling her father's death well. I know how difficult it is, when you get to know that your loved one is no more. Especially if  the reason for their death is not natural.

"How are you doing?" Caleb asked her, as he gently wrapped his arms securely around her to give her a hug, and she rested her forehead on his chest. He seemed so gentle, as though she was made out of glass, and would break by his move. Looking at the two of them made me feel like I was interrupting something, but I couldn't get myself to turn away. They seemed like the cutest love birds ever. Being in love is so cute, especially when it's just brewing.

"I'm glad you listened to me, and decided to get out of your house for a while, how's Eduardo doing?" He whispered to her softly, but that obviously didn't stop me from hearing. "I'm really worried about him Cale...he looks upset when he's in the living room, but he seems to be partying and I saw two concert tickets in his pocket. I can't was saying, he probably hasn't acknowledged the fact that he's dead, that's the reason, the news hasn't changed his behaviour."

Oh my god, I can't hear this conversation. Is this why he has been so patient with me, and wasn't being judgemental like others. So that when the time is right he could guilt-trip me! Is that why he brought me here!

"Oh...holy cow! I had to go get some meds from Mrs Martha...Ill be right back. Why don't you show Juana the temple till then." She said.

"Oh could you remind mom to send Juana's medicines too?" He asked her, for which she nodded, and kissed him on the cheek before running towards her bicycle. Once she kissed him, I realised how his facial expression had totally changed and he now looked beet red! If I wasn't annoyed at the fact that he had actually brought me here, to guilt trip me, I'd be teasing him.

"So this is why you brought me here to-" before I could add the words 'to make me feel guilty' he broke my sentence, deciding to speak instead.

"I'm sorry, I know you weren't keen on coming to the temple, but I really needed to make sure Candy gets out of her house. I didn't want her to spend another day cooped up to inside her room...since I spend my day mostly at the cottage, I couldn't spend any time with her... I just needed to see her, that's all." He said. Awe that's so sweet!

"So...you like her." It wasn't a question p, it was more of a statement, which made him blush instantly. He rubbed the back of his neck just like El usually does. "She's my mate." He said.

Wow I didn't see that coming! Well obviously it makes sense, but why hadn't they completed the mate bond and gotten married yet? "I'd appreciate if you wouldn't tell her though" he added immediately. Wait. What! "How does she not know?" I asked him incredulously.

"She's my best friend but shes just fifteen years old, and hasn't got her wolf yet, but I got to know she's my mate right when I first shifted, four years ago when I was of her age. I didn't want to tell her, I want her to find out for herself on her birthday. I haven't told anyone, but my mum, since she's very fond of Candy, ever since we were kids."

Wow, he's been waiting for her for four years! What if my mate has been waiting for so long! What if he got the scent too that day, would he think I rejected him? What after waiting for so long, he gets to know that I'm hopelessly in love with my best friend? Would he leave me and break the bond? I don't even want to think about it.

"Your secrets safe with me." I assured him.

"Hey... You guys are still here?" A familiar voice came from behind, and I looked at Caleb who's face seemed to have light up immediately. Candice walked towards us.

"Caleb, you never told me you two are leaving this weekend to go see His royal Highness, the prince of North Coloma." She said, pouting at him. What does that mean. She said I had a week. But the weekend is day after! I looked at Caleb to get my answers, but he looked quite calm.

Caleb looked at the two of us, and I realised it was because we both had the same expression. "Ladies, you should never believe my mother. Her news is based on the daily gossip magazine. The Prince will be coming on the first. That's six days from now. And well...I'd call you to come along with us, but I wasn't sure you'd be up for it." He told Candice.

"What do you mean by the Prince's arrival? He doesn't live here?" I asked. I was curious, considering the fact that my life depends on him, so getting to know about him wouldn't hurt.

"No...actually we always thought it was a myth, that the queen had given birth to a baby boy before she had princess Scarlett. Some say, he was born a still child, while others say it's just a rumour. However six months back when his Royal highness the King of North Coloma had a heart attack, nobody thought he'd make it.

The whole country was in distress, with the fact that there was no heir to take over the kingdom. That's when he announced that nobody would have to worry, because his son would take over the country. However he recovered soon after. But last week the princess made an announcement that finally his Royal highness Prince Elijah would be here, this week."

I chocked on my own saliva when I heard the name. Elijah, in the last six months, I did everything I can, not to think about him. But every thing around me seems to be a constant reminder of him. I coughed rapidly, and Caleb pat my back but it just didn't stop.

"Are you okay?" I heard a gruff voice.

"Allan Jay, your here...in the temple?" Alan Jay. Suddenly I wasn't coughing anymore. I looked up, to see the man standing in front of me. So this is Alan Jay, the reason why I'm here.

"Now I'm fine. I'm absolutely fine." I told him.
