It was a warm spring evening. The sun was sending its last rays of light on the earth, engulfing everything in a purple-orange hue, before letting the moon take over. You loved watching this transition and did so daily, but today, you had finally gathered every ounce of motivation in your body to study. The day of the exam was nigh and you hadn't managed to get past the title of the book you were supposed to read. Your grades hadn't been extraordinary lately. Imagine the disappointment of your parents if you were to fail.
You shook the thought out of her head. 'Think positively' you said to yourself. You took your good 'friend', the anatomy book in your delicate hands and began reading, starting with the digestive system. Just looking at all those enzymes made your head spin, but that didn't bring you down. You took a piece of paper and wrote down the main ideas, tracing schemes wherever possible to make it easier to remember. Highlighting was also coming in handy.
Just as you were starting to get the hang of how it all worked, you heard a lulling voice from behind you.
"You really should lock your window, who knows what kind of creep might invade your room?" You grabbed the nearest sharp object and turned around to greet your intruder.
"Woah, no need to get all aggressive now." he put his hands up.
It had been a while since he last dropped by your place, so you weren't used to his surprises anymore.
"Chat, you know I hate it when you do that!" you scolded the blond-haired hero.
"Hey, I knocked first, it's not my fault you didn't pay attention to the things around you." he taunted, grinning like an idiot.
"I was studying, besides, what are you doing here at-" you looked at the clock on your wall, shocked to see it had gotten so late.
"What's the matter, cat got your tongue?" he made himself comfortable on your cream, fluffy bed.
"Bite me." you said, glaring at him.
"Oh, if you ask so nicely, I just might~" he purred. You rolled your eyes at his remark, yet a smile crept its way on your face, your pink lips curving upwards.
"So, what brings you here?" You sank back into your chair, taking the book into your hands, trying to get your pace back.
"I was in the neighborhood."
Oh, so now he needs to be in the neighborhood to pay a visit? That certainly didn't stop him before. You had other things to focus on, though! Study, (y/n), study! You wrote and wrote and wrote, unaware of the presence of the cat-like boy in your room anymore. That is, until you felt his hot breath on your neck.
"What are you studying for?" his question came out more hushed than intended, almost like a whisper. You shot up from your chair at this, your face flushed red, too embarrassed to even look at him.
"Biology, I have an exam.. tomorrow." He knew it all too well, he was in the class next to yours after all, but a little teasing never hurt, right?
"Why are you standing?" he chuckled at you.
"I-uh.. That's because I wanted to grab a blanket! It's so cold, brrr." You stumbled your way across the room and took said object, wrapping it around yourself before making your way back to the desk.
"What are you talking about? The heat is turned on, I'm practically melting here." he thought about it for a minute before spinning your chair around, forcing you to face him. He rested his forehead on yours and closed his eyes, staying like that for a moment.
"W-w-what are you doing, you stupid cat!" yelling and pulling away from him, your face turned an even deeper shade of red than before.
"(Y/n), you have a fever! You're burning up, even your face is red!" as oblivious as he could've been towards your behaviour, he wasn't wrong. You did have a fever and you didn't even notice. All the stress and lack of sleep finally added and resulted in this. A fever right before the exam. 'Great' you told herself. 'What am I going to do now?!' you screamed internally.
