Emily's point of view:

I woke up the next morning feeling nastily sick. I didn't even bother being careful not to wake up Eli, I just ran my ass to the bathroom and probably threw up a lung. Ah

"I'll be back, Emily." He says and walks to the kitchen to answer the phone.

"Hey, Emily! The phone is for you!" Eli says as I walk into the kitchen.

"Who is it?" I ask. He has no time to answer as he hands me the phone and I put it to my ear.

"This is Emily Carter." I say.

"Yes, Emily. This is Christopher Martinson, I am the dean of Johns Hopkins University." He says. This can't be happening! No, this isn't real! It's to amazing!

"Oh, well thank you for calling sir. Might I ask why?" I said. He chuckled.

"Well, I took a look at the résumé you sent us. It's quite impressive and I would love to have you as a student here." He says. I have to refrain from screaming aloud as he says this.

"That's amazing, thank you for saying that Mr. Martinson." I replied.

"You're welcome. The thing is, there is a slight problem. You are pregnant, is that correct?" He asks. I sigh, right. I suppose that limits me.

"Yes sir I am. My first appointment is tomorrow. I suppose that would mean I can't attend JH?" I asked.

"Not necessarily. But if you have no one else to take care of the baby, than we'd suggest not." He says.

"It isn't just me, sir. The baby's father is around, and it's grandparents are here to help." I say.

"Oh, I see. Well, I still can't be sure. Look, why don't you come over to Maryland and we can talk about it. Sound good?" He asks. Oh my god! A chance to fulfill my dream!

"Yes sir, that would be great. When would you like me to come?" I ask.

"Does next Thursday at around three work for you?" He asks.

"Yes! Of course, that would be just fine. Thank you Mr. Martinson." I said.

"No problem, have a good day. And congratulations on your baby." He says and hangs up.

I look at Eli, a curious expression on his face. I smile widely and make a high-pitched sound related to fangirling. Eli looks at me and laughs.

"What happened? Where are you going?" He asks.

"That was the dean of Johns Hopkins. He wants to interview me next Thursday! I may have a chance to become a historian, Eli!" I replied. His eyes widen as he smiles.

"Oh my god! Congratulations, honey! I'll drive you there and I'll look for apartments while you're at the interview." He said.

"Perfect. I feel like this is the start of it all. We're going to have a family and I may even get to go to school. This is amazing." I said.

"Yes! But there is one problem." He says.

"What problem is there?" I asked.

"You have to tell your friends, Emily. They deserve to know this." He said. I sighed.

"I completely forgot about that. I need to tell them, you're right. Will you come with me?" I asked.

"Of course I will. Let's go now." He said and we went to the car and drove off.

We arrived at Tyler's house, where everyone was supposed to meet. All my friends would be there, but they didn't know why they were coming.

"Hey, why did you tell us all to come here? You're acting kind of weird." Tyler asked.
