Emily's point of view:
It was now time to tell my dad this whole thing. Eli, Abby, and me were all going to be there when I did. We were all going to a cafe to tell him. We decided a public place would be better so not much of a scene is caused.
"I don't know if I'm ready for this," I whispered to Eli as all four of us made our way to the cafe. Eli and I were behind Abby and my dad.
"It's okay. Just relax and keep your head held high. I'm here for you every step of the way," he said. I nodded.
"Alright. I'm still not sure about this though," I said.
"To be honest, no one asked you to be," he said. I didn't really know how to respond to that.
"So, who wants a coffee? I know I do!" My dad said as we sat down at the table. I sat beside Eli and across from us were my dad and Abby.
"I'll just have orange juice, thank you. I'm not really in the mood for coffee," I said to the waiter. In actuality, I was saying 'I'm craving orange juice so give it to me before I run you over with my car!' Pregnancy moods. The waiter left to grab our orders.
"It's such a beautiful day out isn't it? Italy is just so welcoming!" My dad said. He's in a good mood, and I'm probably about to break it.
"It is very nice here. I wouldn't even mind living here!" Abby said with a slight chuckle. I could tell she was trying to brighten my mood.
"So, dad. I-we-need to talk to you about something," I said.
"Oh? Is it about my birthday? It's not for a month, is planning really necessary?" He asked with a laugh. I grinned, which was all I really could do.
"No, it isn't about your birthday. I uh- I don't think you will appreciate it as much," I said. His face turned serious.
"What's going on, Emily? This is worrying me," he said. I exhaled.
"It's okay, go ahead," Eli said, basically whispering even though everyone could hear.
"I've been hiding something. And now I can't anymore due to...circumstances," I said.
"What are you hiding? What circumstances? Please, tell me what's going on," he said. I exhaled again to try and ease my nerves. It didn't work.
"I'm pregnant dad," I said. His eyes widened at the statement.
"No. No, you can't be! Emily, who is the father?" He asked. I didn't answer, but I looked at Eli. My dad immediately got the message and his eyes may as well have gone red, he was so angry.
"Quentin, let's be civil. We don't want to cause a scene," Eli said. My dad didn't answer.
"You son of a bitch!" My dad shouted. He jumped across the table and tackled Eli down, the chair and the table cloth going down with them.
Abby and I gasped as the two rolled on and off of each other. My dad was trying to fight, Eli was probably just tying to survive. It wasn't a very manly fight, so to speak. They were hitting each other pretty hard though.
"Dad, stop it! You're hurting him!" I shouted. He ignored me. Everyone around us was watching now.
Eli tried to run away but my dad tackled him and they went right through a glass window of the cafe we were at. Visible cuts severed both of their skin.
"That's my daughter, you asshole!" Dad shouted as he pushed Eli into the fountain a few feet away. Eli grabbed his arm and he fell in as well.
"Quentin stop! This isn't the way to handle this!" Abby shouted to him. He ignored her just the same. The boys paused, soaking wet from the fountain water.
