Evv's POV:
Deep in the forest, and far out of ordinary sight, lies a circus tent full of wonder and the unknown.
Many secrets hide within this tent, secrets that the ordinary will not understand...
But the freaks...well, this is their home.
All outcasts, all misfits, all broken. And insane. All the bullied and the tortured, all of the loners and misunderstood.
This is where they run to,
When they finally can't take it.
This was where I ran to,
When I felt all hope was dead.
And that's how I became an official Freak.
-------------------~------
Sprinting through the woods, my heart pounding with shadows and my breath panting, coughing out blood.
I didn't want to go back, I didn't want to ever go back...I wanted to run away to a place where people would accept me for who I am, so I wouldn't have to wear the mask anymore.
I tripped over a branch and for a moment I felt like everything was over. My clothes were all muddy and I was already crying. My mask feel off and I quickly grabbed it to cover my face again.
I saw a dim light
I ran to it, no sprinted, as fast as I could to get out of the dark. Finally through the maze of trees, I ended up in a clearing with a strange circus tent in the middle.I was curious, and no longer cared for my own life. I wandered inside the tent, only to discover the greatest things I'd ever wittness.
It was dark inside, there was absolutely nothing...
At first.
"...Hello?" I called out quietly
Nothing happened.
"Hello....?!" I cried out louder.
Still nothing.
"Um...hello?"
A blinding spotlight appeared out of nowhere and a tall thin figure stepped out of the shadows to face me.
He was definitely odd looking, but in a mysterious and charming kind of way. He wore a dark purple trench jacket with a black bow, pants and classy shoes. He had a top hat on, his long black hair covering one eye and the other he kept closed. He was smiling but seemed oddly calm. He held his hands behind his back, as if waiting for me to respond."Hello there." His voice was deep, and he had a bit of an accient.
"...H-hi..." I answered dumbly, feeling pretty fearful to be honest.
"May I help you?"
"....Um..i...actually...I should get going....I'm sorry for bothering you..." I quickly scurried over to the exit, but was stopped by a stronger force. The curtain shut in front of me, and when I tried to open it I found it had become pure steel.
But how?...
I turned around to see the mysterious man holding his arm out, his eye opened.
"I'm sorry, I'm afraid you cannot leave now darling. After all, you just got here." The magician approached me slowly, his blue eye starting to glow.
I was speechless. He continued talking as he got closer to me.
"You did run here for a reason, am I correct? You would have to be one of us too even be able to see this place."He was now right in front of me, I was looking up at him. He stroked my mask with his hand, almost as if he was inspecting me.
"You can not run away from us darling, this is where you belong now.""...W-what do you mean...?"
"This is your new home." He spoke with more empathy. He snapped his fingers and a faint set of silver spiraling stairs formed behind him.
"Do you wish to join us, Evvelynn Eniland? Do you wish to join our Circus?" He kindly held out his hand to me with promising eyes. He was such a gentlemen I couldn't stand it. I could feel my face turn red.
I took his hand, as we flew up the staircase, into a world I never knew existed.
A world that had always been my home.
