The Stars In Us

Sparkling like a twinkle in the eyes

The shining stars have the most to hide

They distance themselves so far away

Never letting us know if they're here to stay

Sometimes I sit and wonder why

People sit and look up at the sky

Wishing for solutions to their problems

Searching for answers in things just like them

Whether in the sky or on the ground

You don't know how long they'll stick around

The truth is only revealed in the dark

Once they've finally lost their spark
