Lies, lies, and more lies

Chapter 1

*Raven's POV*

'Alpha! There is a rogue who just passed over our border. What do you want us to do?' My Beta, Daniel, asks through the mind link.

'Where is the rogue at?' I ask him curiously. We never have rogue problems. Most are too scared to bother with my pack.

'Near the dirt path leading into the town near the east wing of our border.' He links back

'Ok.' I send back before cutting the link and running out of the pack house and shifting into my huge deep black wolf and taking off running.

I get to the east wing within ten minuets and spot Daniel's brown wolf fairly quickly. He dips his head to me in respect before trotting off into the underbrush. I follow him curious of why there is a rogue here, and after a few minuets I catch a scent that causes my wolf to growl in anger. Before I know what's even happening my wolf takes over and takes off running until I spot the naked girl laying unconscious by the road. 'Daniel?' I mind link him worried about the girl and the strong smell of fear coming from her. 'Are there any other wolves in the area?' I ask him as he comes up next to me.

'Not that I know of. She seems to be the only one that crossed the border.' he replies to me as I carefully look around before going up to her limp form. I nudge her but she just lays there. I don't even smell the human until Daniel shouts through the mind link 'RAVEN MOVE.' But by the time I look up to see a man with a gun running towards me. I have no choice but to leave the rouge girl and run back to where Daniel is on the edge of the forest and watch as the man picks up the naked girl and carries her back to his truck and drives off towards the town.

*Scarlet's POV*


I wake up with a massive headache and in some fowl smelling white room. Looking around I realize I'm in a hospital and scream terrified as all the events of yesterday come rushing back to the point of where my just about nonexistent wolf showed up and took over. I take a deep shaky breath as I'm trembling curled up in my bed. I hear some shouting and then the door to my room is burst open and a large man walk through. I can tell he's human from his scent and I look at him curiously before looking at the nurses. "How did I get here?" I ask looking at them.

"I found you naked and passed out by the road with a huge black wolf standing over you! You're lucky I was there or I'm sure that wolf would have eatin you for sure." The human man says causing me to shiver beginning to tremble. There must be a pack in the area. I think to myself ignoring the nurse as she begins speaking

"Hun whats your name?" she asks tapping my shoulder making me flinch away.

"Scarlet" I say softly making her smile at me clearly proud to have gotten something out of me.

"Okay Scarlet. Do you think you can tell me where you live?" she asks and I stiffen shaking my head beginning to whimper. My real home is a very touchy subject for me. I never open up to anyone about anything.

"I d-don't have a h-home. I am a f-foster kid" I say trembling and she looks at me sadly but nods.

"I'll call the foster care program in this part of town, okay?" she asks me and I nod slightly still worried about the wolf that the human mentioned. I am pretty sure I am on a pack's land and that terrifies me to the core.

I watch as the nurse and man leave the nurse telling me that I'm okay to go when the foster care lady gets here to see if there are any families in the area willing to take me in.

~1 hour later~

I look up as a lady walks in smiling with a few small children attatched to her legs and arms "Hello I'm the foster care mother in this town. You may call me Mrs. Grey" she says as I get up out of the bed and go over to her

"I'm Scarlet" I say causing her to smile

"Lets go hun" she says to me before turning and walking back out through the front doors amazingly with the kids all hanging on her.

After getting them all in the car and taking us back to the foster home she smiles at me and shows me my room before running off to go yell at some kid. As soon as I walk into my room I catch a scent that isn't right and doesn't fit in with all the human scents. Following it I leave my room and come to a door in the boys side of the house. Knocking on the door I hear a muffled grunt before a small child looking about the age of ten opens the door. He looks up at me before fully opening the door and looking back at an older boy "Who are you?" the older one asks me

"I just got here" I say softly as I raise my head sniffing the air and then looking at the shocked and scared faces of the two boys. Their scents cause my wolf to stir making me scared and I begin trembling staring at them terrified. Wolves. How can there be other wolves in the house if there is a pack near by. I think as the older one speaks up

"I'm Shawn and this is my little brother Tommy. I'm 14 almost 15 and Tommy is 10" Shawn says and I nod. Shawn is going to change soon I think to myself as they stare at me

"I'm Scarlet. and 17. Why aren't you both with a pack? There has to be one in the area." I say finally placing the scent as werewolf. They both stiffen staring at me

"H-how did you know what we are?" Shawn asks causing me to smile

"I can smell your scent. Humans can't tho. So don't worry." I say and you can see him visibly relax and smile at me

"Can Tommy and I stay with you?" he asks and I check with me wolf who gives me no answer like normal so I nod at them and their faces instantly brighten up

"Your now my big sissy! And we your little brothers!" Tommy states and I smile. I like the idea of having a small family, even if its jus us three kids.

After dinner they take me back to their room after freaking out Mrs. Gray because aparently the two boys hadn't come down once since they got to the house. They both smile as they hug me and then get ready for bed and I do the same. After we all are in bed I ask shawn "How long until your 15th birthday?"

"About a week. Why?" he asks looking at me as I curl up on the bunk below his and his brother's

"When a werewolf hits the age of 15 they have their first shift but after that one you can shift freely." I say and he stares at me wide eyed and I smile a bit "Don't worry I'll help you through it" I say and he relaxes

"Thanks Scarlet your the best." and with that he and Tommy fall asleep leaving me with my thoughts. Even though after a few hours I too drift off into the land of dreams.
