Dinner passed by quickly. Kiarra couldn't stop thinking about going to the rainbow kingdom. I'm going home, she thought.

A squid escorted her to her room. Her room was more like a little house. The door opened into a living room with elegant furnishings and paintings of squids hanging on the wall. There was a little fountain in the middle of the room. Kiarra continued into the other room.

The next room was a bedroom. Then she realized how tired she was. She hadn't slept since she left the gorilla kingdom. She fell asleep right when she closed her eyes.

The next morning Kiarra was awoken by a female squid in human form, probobly for her benefit. The woman helped Kiarra get dressed into leather boots, khaki pants and a deep blue shirt. She strapped her sword to her belt and put her little bag over her shoulder.

The woman lead her through the castle, to the roof where Katie, Shan, Bookin, scoot, shoo, gizell, Bookin's horse, and Nixie, shans horse. Katie held a sword, and Shan and Bookin had there swords strapped to their belts, like her. They both carried bows. Katie had tears running down her face.

Kiarra walked up to her. "Where is Spendy?" she asked.

"He's too sick to come." Katie said. "That dagger had dark poison on it. There trying to find a cure, but they don't know if they will. But I need to come. Spendy understands."

They all mounted there horses, and followed Bookin through the force field.

They had been riding for hours now. They all wore magic sweaters that put off heat, so it wasn't as cold as it was when they arrived. Bookin and Shan led the way.

But then Shan noticed a big black cloud up ahead.

And Kate knew what that meant.

The black cloud transformed into three of the dark men, and they were all riding dark horses. One of them held a grey bow, and the others held black swords.

"Get your swords ready." said Bookin, drawing back an arrow.

That morning they had all been given white swords. "It's made out of magic pearl stone." Bookin explained. "Its one of the only things that can kill them."

Bookin let the arrow fly. It stuck in one of the men's arm.

The man pulled the arrow out and snarled. The three men of darkness charged at them. One of the men flew at Kiarra and Shan, and started to battle them. Even with the two of them they were barely holding him off.

Then out of nowhere one of the Men was swinging his sword at Katie. She swung her sword over to deflect it. The

man kept swinging his sword at her but she kept deflecting it. But she was only on the defence. She was barely holding on. Ruling the Neon kingdom had finally payed off.

Then the man did something crazy. He held up his hands and suddenly she was overcame with fear. The fear felt fake. She couldn't move. She was paralyzed with the terrible fear. The only reason that the man hadn't killed her yet was because Shoo was deflecting the blows with his horn.

Then Katie felt a sense of courage. She felt a warmth coming from her bag. The dent! It was giving her courage! She swiped at the man's neck but missed and just cut off his necklace. It fell into Katie's hand.

The man looked at her, fear in his eyes, and disappeared, along with all of the other darkness.

"What happened?" asked Bookin.

"I cut off his necklace and he just disappeared." said Kate.

"Do you have the necklace?" said Bookin.

"Ya, here it is." said Kate, handing her the necklace.

"Lets go." said Bookin.

They flew.

~

They reached the rainbow kingdom four hours later.

And when they got there what they saw made Kiarra want to cry.

The kingdom was big, really big. They're we're burned houses and shops all over the kingdom. And in the middle of the kingdom was a half destroyed castle. Surrounding the Rainbow kingdom was lots and lots of abandoned farm land. They landed a little ways away from the castle.

"It looks terrible!" said Kate. After walking a little ways they came across a part that looked like it was blown up.

"This is where the protector crystal used to stand." said Bookin.

"What's a protector crystal?" asked Kiarra.

"It was a giant crystal that sat right here. It had magic inside it that protected the kingdom from gorillas. Someone on the inside betrayed the kingdom and destroyed the protector." said Bookin.

They continued walking.

At the front door to the castle there were to skeletons lying at the door. The actual doors were lying in pieces on the ground. They walked inside.

Instantly 10 gorillas jumped out at them. It would have been easy to kill them except they all went for Kiarra. Before she knew what she was doing she shot a giant ball of rainbow energy at the gorillas.

They all fell to the ground dead.

"Lets keep moving." said Bookin.

Bookin led them into the lower part of the castle. Then they came to a door.

"Okay guys." Said Bookin. "This is where the fun begins."

~

They opened the door slowly. Inside was a dark hallway, leading to another door at the end of the room.

"Be careful, this chamber is supposed to be full of traps." Bookin said.

That brightened the mood. They walked slowly across the hall, but they encountered no traps on there way to the next door.

They opened the door and walked in. The room was the size of a gymnasium. The walls were made of stone. There were three statues in the room. One was of a Lion, and it looked like it was made of bronze. On either sides of the dragon were two silver rhinos.

"The doors on the other side, so maybe we can just walk around the statues." said Kate.

"Well my guess is that those statues come to life somehow, but its worth a shot.

They walked around the statues without difficulty, but when they reached the door, they realized that it was locked,

"There must be a key somewhere." said Shan. "We just have to look."

"Um guys." said Shoo. "The key is around the lions neck."

They all looked and sure enough, the key was on a string around the lions neck.

They began walking towards the statues, and when they got close to the statues, they came to life.
