"I thought I would have never find you." He squeezed me even harder and I promised I heard my back pop.
"Ow. Ow. Too tight." I squeaked, patting his back rapidly. He let go as I said those words and regret clouded his green eyes. He sniffed the air one more time and golden spots dotted his eyes.
"I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to hurt you." His fingers skimmed the length of my arm and I stiffed. He hand dropped abruptly. Who is this guy and what does he think he's doing touching me? "You're human."
I tilted my head slightly at his statement. What else would I be?
"Yeah. Aren't you?"
"Well, no. I'm a we-." My mother's hand suddenly slapped over the green-eyed alien's mouth as my eyes went wide.
"You need you to leave," She started to usher him out the house. "Don't come back or anywhere near my daughter, Orion." He was finally out the door and his eyes immediately connected with mine. A low growl rumbled out through Orion's mouth as his hand clasped the side of the door before mother could close it fully. He lowered his head dangerously close to my mother's and whispered something I didn't quite catch.
Mom's eyes went wide as she gave him a warning look through squinted eyes. He smiled, gave me a final loving glance, then he left the doorway. I turned to my mother in utter confusion.
"Who the heck was that?" She looked at me silently and suddenly shook her head.
"Upstairs to your room. Now." She barked at me like a sergeant. I ignored her orders.
"I know his name is Orion but what did he want from me? What is he?" I asked again as I stepped forward just a little bit. She clicked her tongue as anger lit her eyes.
"I just said to go into room! Don't come upstairs or out the backdoor." She gritted through her yellowing teeth.
She should really stop smoking.
I hesitated before sighing and walking upstairs and into my room. I sat on my bed with a million questions in my brain. My mother was trying to hide something very important from me, and I wasn't going to allow her to do that. If she wants to keep secrets then I'm going to find them out, one way or the other.
But first I was going to sleep. I fell back into my comfy pillows and closed my eyes.

My eyes slowly opened as I smiled lazily. Phase one complete. All I needed to do now was wait until it was night so I could sneak out to the woods. Mother should be asleep or out to where ever she goes sometimes. I popped my back and neck and got up from the bed. Slowly, I made my way downstairs and to a window to see if my mother was here. She wasn't.
I did a little happy dance inside, threw on some shoes, and dashed out the backdoor. Phase two complete. All I needed to do now is find Orion but know I'm questioning why I even went to the backyard. Was I expecting to call him and he would magically appear in front of me? Shaking my head, I went towards my fence and placed my hands gently against the wood.
"Orion..." I called lightly, trying to seek some answers. A howl sounded through the darkness of the night and I called his name again. Another howl was heard but just a little closer. I was about to call his name again when I heard the pounding of feet against the cold grass behind the fence. I stopped and gripped the hem of my shirt tightly.
"O-Orion?" I whispered and put my hand on the little gate's handle. I was about to open the door to see what was on the other side, but I was spooked by the sudden silence. All I needed to do was breath in and breath out. I quickly opened the little gate to be met with a blow of crisp air.
