"Show you around where?" She asked.
"Your school, your city, I'm only in Kingston for a day. After that I'll be on the north coast for the rest of the week." He replied taking a seat.
"I asked you one question. You didn't need to give me your life story."
She said.
She got up and bent over to tie her shoelaces.
She straightened out, looking over at him.
"Are you going to move?" She asked.
"Haha shit sorry, Ma." He got up indicating for her to lead the way.
"Mhm, well this is the private painting studios, I don't paint. I do ceramics." She said as she locked her door.
"You wanna meet some fans?" She turned to him.
"Yeah but lemme grab a bag from my driver I have some stuff in there for my fans actually." He started walking back towards the parking lot, looking over to see if she was following.
"I like your shirt by the way." He said to her, observing the way her chest bounced as she walked beside him.
"Thanks."
He walked to the car introducing the guide to Aura-Kae and grabbing his duffel.
He grabbed an album, jacket and action figure and handed it to her.
She thanked him. Putting the jacket on and giggling at the doll.
"This is cute. You're almost as cute as it is." She laughed, teasing him.
"Woooow, so you're saying that I'm not as cute as the action figure made in my image?"
"Yep."
"Ouch."
She laughed at him, taking his hand and pulling him down a pathway, around a corner and towards another room.
He enjoyed the feeling of her hand in his, he knew she meant nothing by it. But he held her hand tighter, and allowed her to pull him.
She stopped at the doorway and pulled him forward.
"This is the Photography Department, some of my friends chill here, they're really talented, and very big fans of yours."
Her friends had noticed her standing and called her in as she she brought Jacques in front of her and pushed him in front to introduce himself.
He laughed, "Sup? Heard I got a few fans here."
They sat in shock, then started shouting, screaming and attacking him, surrounded him, asking for pictures, autographs, questions. He did his best to meet their demands but then he noticed the lack of Aura-Kae's presence by his side. He started searching the area for her and found her sitting atop a table with a serious look on her face while she spoke on the phone.
He sighed, in relief that she was still present, but was intrigued in her current mood but he returned his focus to his fans, handing out the gifts he brought, but the thing is he only brought one jacket and she had it tied around her waist.
He told them how grateful he was for their support, how appreciative he was of their blessing and good wishes and told them he'd see them again soon hopefully. He hugged them and walked towards Aura-Kae.
She looked up, her face blank of emotion.
"Next stop on the tour?" He asked, wondering about her mood.
She got up nodded towards her friends and walked ahead of him implying for him to follow.
"Attached to the Photography Department is the Printmaking Department. No one's in their right now. Next stop is Jewelry."
She said and she walked ahead of him, introducing him to different kids, fans or not, he handed out gifts, gave them hugs, had conversations, he noticed she kept checking the time. And isolating herself from the groups of people.
They had went through the whole school, Visual Arts, Dance, Drama, Music. They even went to the dorms to see her friends and to the cafes.
He was exhausted. She was unfazed, nonchalant, was still talking to her monotonously.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked holding her by the upper arm to stop her from walking.
"I have some shit to take care of, so I guess my time with you has come to an end." She said as she brushed back her locs.
He didn't like that news, he wanted to spend more time with her and he was almost desperate to make that happen, he didn't know why. But he had to spend more time with her.
"I can just come with you." He suggested.
"No." She said, instantly.
"Why not? Fuck are you gonna be doing?"
"Shit that I have to deal with, alone." She said walking towards her car.
"I'm coming."
"You won't." She said. Taking her key, from her pocket. Walking towards a Nissan Skyline, it looked brand new, modified, tinted dark.
"Aura-Kae, stop!" He shouted.
"What the fuck is wrong with you man? I don't know anyone here, I wanna spend some fucking time with you, I don't have anyone I can be myself with, I'm here for a break be my fucking break man." He burst.
She stared at him, her resting bitch face, evident.
She got into the car, started it and let it run, she stared at him from the drivers seat.
"Yo, My man, I'll be back." He shouted at the driver, who nodded and got into his car.
He smiled and got into the passenger seat of her car.
She glanced over at him briefly, put your seatbelt on.
He looked over at her.
"You don't have it on."
She gripped the steering wheel. Her temper wasn't as attractive as her legs were.
She pulled the car into reverse quickly and backed out professionally with the spin of the wheel and her foot on the gas like she lived her life racing.
Travis was thrown forward into the dashboard by the quick movement to which he greeted with several expletives.
"What the fuck, is wrong with you? Fuck do you think you're doing?"
He shouted.
"Mi did tell yuh fi put on yuh bloodclaat seatbelt, but no, yuh nah listen. Shut the fuck up and put it on before I send you through the windshield." She shouted back as she drove to the schools exit gate.
Travis fumed in silence, buckling his belt and thinking to himself that he regretted the decision to get into a car with her.
Her personality switched so fast. But so did his, he had just never had someone be as crazy and angry as he could be. Or even crazier and angrier.
