The three of them skipped down the hall way together eager to see how Ron was doing. They got there and filled him in on everything that had happened and how Harry and Hermione had detention in the middle of the night. Harry also said how Neville was there too. He had snuck out to warn them. So now Gryffendor was down 150 points. He was disappointed that he missed out.

"But blimey, I wouldn't want to be under Filtches wrath. He hates students." Ron said laying back down. " Hermione why's your hair all... puffy?" Ron asked. Hermione looked down and mumbled a few words. Then excused her self hastily.

Rose was furious. Why would Ron say that! Was he really that oblivious to how Hermione was feeling about her, very, pretty hair!?! Rose punched him in the unhurt arm.

"Now what was that for! I'm already stuck in here!" Ron yelled out angrily. Rose shot daggers at him with her eyes.

"I think you should know." Harry said furiously. Rose nodded to Harry thankful that he picked up on the mood.

Rose ran after her, not wanting her best friend to be alone... with what happened with the troll she honestly never liked it when Hermione was alone.

"Um. How long have you been standing there? Wait don't bother getting out your pens and note book because I don't wanna know." She said with a forced laugh.

Rose reached out and took her hand with a smirk. She pulled her this way and that until Hermione finally knew where they were going.

"Merlin I knew you were a good listener, but I've got to say you're my best friend Rose." Hermione said as they arrived at the library. It was almost empty, with just only a freckling of students doing last minute assignments and such.

They walked toward the back and sat by the towering rows of books. Hermione ranted about Ron having basically no emotional capacity, what their detention would be, and then as usual, studying for finals.

Rose didn't care if Ron and Harry worried. Well I mean she did care but she was surprisingly okay with it. Hermione was interesting too and she rarely filled up the silence this well when they weren't alone.

Sooner than they wanted it became supper time. When they got to the great hall Harry was wondering where they had gone off to, but didn't press it much which was nice of him. But as it got later the conversation grew more and more forced.

Their punishment loomed...
