Amber’s POV

I can’t believe that time traveled so fast. It had already been 23 years since Krystal and I became a couple and it had been 15 years since we got married.

It had been tough but we managed to overcome all the obstacle that life has thrown us.

School had been rough since both my parents also cut me off when I refused to follow their demands. I was used to living the life in one flick of a finger, it was gone. Fortunately, Kystal’s by my side all the time. She taught me how to save money and to commute. Taeyeon offered one of her cars but I refused. It’s a good learning experience for me.

Fortunately, the neighbourhood where we live was very accepting for couples like us. The next door neighbor even offered to babysit Ssul which we gladly accepted.

Victoria unnie and Yuri had a simple wedding ceremony a month after I returned. It was Jan 1. Yuri was also promoted to sergeant while Vic unnie found a job at a pharmaceutical company. At last, there’s company that wasn’t afraid of our parents. She offered to support my study but I refused. She’ll be needing them when they decided to have a baby.

My uncle, the principal of the school had a kind heart. Total opposite of my mother who was his older sister. He switched me to athletic scholarship since my parents refused to pay for my tuition. He offered to pay but I refused, hence the scholarship , I did helped a lot in obtaining his first basketball throphy.

I on the other hand had gotten a job at a local motor shop while Krystal on the other hand managed the books. We always went home together.

My relationship with Min have been damaged but it was slowly being repaired. Thanks to the support and encouragement of the whole gang.

Krystal got a scholarship for a college at a state university where she took medicine and now she was one of the best cardio thoracic surgeon.

I entered the police academy where Vic unnie almost fainted at my decision stating. “I’m already worried sick enough if my wife’s coming home and now you want me to get worry if my little sister’s coming home alive or in a box.” But in the end, I managed to convinced her.

Ssul finally found out that Krystal’s her real mom. It was Christmast Eve, the first Christmast where their mother’s going to spend it in jail. She was sober but angry that Krystal left her to rot. As per conversation with Yul, Krystal’s mother got a nice deal with the D.A and could be released sooner for good behavior.

The little child was actually delighted to find out that Krystal’s her real mom. She said “I’m glad that you’re my mom. That woman never cared for me anyway.” She was really too smart for her age to be able to understand fully the situation.

Yuri and Victoria unnie had a twin from using Vic unnie’s egg which was the first for our family. The doctor explained that it could be caused by the fertility pill that she took in order to enhance her fertility. She had been irregular and needed treatment. They were identical boys. Their youngest was a girl from which they used Yul’s eggs but it was Vic unnie who carried the child due to Yul’s job was more dangerous.

Krystal and I also had an identical twin boys but it took us a great deal if emotional turmoil. We first tried artificial insemination but failed five times. Even our doctor could not determine the issue. Her fertility count was good and her period was regular.

Then at the sixth and last try, it had been a success. However, before the end of the first trimester, Krystal had miscarriage. We took it hard but it solidify our love. I told her that we don’t need to have another child. Ssul and her was enough to complete my world but she insisted that it was unfair for me. I have missed so many Ssul’s first and she will happy to experience a baby’s first with me. I loved Ssul like she was already my own but the thought of holding a baby, changing dirty diapers, witnessing the first step melted my soul.

We tried again via in vitro fertilization using my eggs and it was a success. However, my surprise had been doubled when Krystal told me that she asked the doctor to place to embryo in her uterus. Thankfully, her pregnancy had been smooth and after just thirty six weeks, we were blessed with two boy.

Ssul was a great big sister to them even with the big age gap. She’s took a degree in social services and was now a social worker who handles child services. She’s also married and had a little girl with her husband whom she met at college.

Due to my profession, I got to play dodge with bullets which terrifies Krystal a lot. I do take good care of myself, unlike the others, I’m always careful but still, shit happens on the job so I ended up in her operating table a few times. One from being stabbed and twice for being shot. The rest were minors.

I’ve never been so happy in my life, not before I met Krystal. And one thing I learned that there are only four words that mean so much more than I love you.

And those words are “I’m here for you.”
