Chapter 9-
Those two frightening words sent chill down my spine, "Murderers? How do you know?"
"I recognize his face." Right before he killed me he took off his mask." Vic said still staring in the same direction, eyes still wide.
"Well why did he wanna kill you? Like, what did you do?" I said. Vic turned his attention away from the door and looked at me.
"Because.... I killed his brother." he said. I froze there. He killed someone else?!? I tried not to give that much of a reaction so he wouldn't be upset. But I knew he was.
"What..... You killed his brother?!" I said a little louder.
"Yes...no, not for the reason you think. I didn't mean to."
"How could you not mean to kill someone Vic?" I said that kind of rudely. I shouldn't have said it like that but I was kind of scared. He looked at me, mad because of the tone of my voice.
"IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN!!!! It shouldn't have...." He said. He sat on the couch and hid face in his hands. I walked over and sat on the couch next to him.
"What happened?" I asked.
VIC'S POV:
I was so stressed out. I had no idea what to do that night so I went to the closest bar I could find. Drink after drink, I was getting dizzy and very drunk. I realized when I looked at the time it was 2:20 am..... or was it 12:30? I didn't know but I got into my car and started driving home. I could barley focus on the road and I had no idea where I was going.
Just then I saw a body fly over onto the front of my car. At first, I had no idea that it was even there but then I realized it was. I stopped my car as the body tumbled off my car and onto the ground. I got out of my car and stood over it. It was a boy, he looked at least 16. His head was bleeding and the bone in his leg was popping out through the skin and he was unconscious. I was so freaked out I turned the other way and threw up heaving out every single part of what I had left in me. I was still really drunk but I managed to call 911 and they took me and the body to the hospital.
When we got there i sat in a waiting chair outside his room. I was still pretty drunk. I saw another guy walk in to that room. He was tall and muscular and he had tattoos all over his body. Without paying any attention to anything else, he ran into the room. I sat there waiting until the doctor came out.
"I-Is he okay? Please te-tell me he is." I asked beginning to form tears in my eyes.
"Im sorry, but he's in a coma." The doctor said. I froze. I felt like I couldn't move. Mixed with the drunkness and the upsetting feeling I felt like I was either gonna throw up or pass out.
"A coma?!" I shouted. I sat down and began crying. I don't know why though. Usually I would just curse a lot and punch stuff but I guess it came with my drunk. "Is he gonna... d-die?" I'm not sure why I asked that but I was looking for other questions to ask.
"I don't know. But there's one other problem. He doesn't have insurance or any money to pay for the hospital bill." The doctor said apologetically.
"Well, how much is the bill?" I asked.
He had a pause before his answer, "It's twenty thousand dollars."
"W-Why so much?" I asked with wide eyes.
"Do to his lack on insurance, but the longer he's in here the more the money will increase if its not payed within the next week." The doctor said. It seemed like a weird policy to me, but I guess if that's what they did. He walked away and I sat there, my vision kind of blurry, with my head down. I had a massive headache. I felt like I was gonna throw up again but it wouldn't come out. I hated throwing up but if it's not gonna come up already then it should just go back down instead of making me feel like shit.
