Chapter 3-
I was still so confused. How did he get in? Was the door unlocked? Or was I just so tired that I imagined a guy in my apartment? I had no idea what to believe.
I sat down on the couch and truned on the TV. While watching TV, I heard footsteps. They weren't the sounds of the TV, they were coming from the bedroom. I grabbed a knife out of the kitchen and walked towards the bedroom, slowly and quietly. I walked over to the closed door and turned the handle slowly. I quickly slammed the door opened and ran in. But there was no one in there. I searched around in the closet and under the bed, but no one was there. Just then, I heard the footsteps coming from the kitchen. I ran into the kitchen. There he was. The same man, Vic, that was in my apartment last time. He was leaning against the countertop.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!?!" I screamed when I saw him.
"Why so scared?" He said with a smile. I stared at him not saying anything.
I took the knife and held it towards him. I started shaking in fear. I have never been robbedor invaded before, so I was afraid he would hurt me. I slowly walked towards him with my knife waving around in the air. He looked at me raising one of his eyebrows, showing me that he thought I looked stupid. He chuckled a little then started walking towards me. I started backing up.
"Get away from me. Get out of my apartment." I said pointing my knife towards him. "Come on, are you really that scared of me?" I didn't answer for a little while because I knew he was right. He was only an inch or two shorter than me, and he looked like an average guy, not a robber or anything.
Just then, my phone rang. I was startled by the noise so I quickly took my attention off of Vic and to the couch that my phone was on. I looked back in the direction that Vic was standing in.
He wasn't there. Just a second ago he was standing there, but when I look back he's gone.
Although I was really confused and scared, I walked over and picked up my phone off the couch. It was Jaime, my boss. I pressed the 'answer' button.
"...hello?" I said in a shaky voice.
"Hey Kellin listen.... I need to come over to your place some time tomorrow, on your employee papers theres no information about the date of your birth or anything and I need to get some kind of proof, like a birth certificate or something, to show your date of birth." That was king of strange, but out of all the strange things happening today, I decided to ignore the fact.
"Okay. But you don't need to come to my apartment. I can bring it into work when I come in." I said reassuringly."No, I can save you the trouble of that and I can just bring take it myself. All I need to do is take it, and copy it down on the computer in my office." He said quickly and nervously.
"Umm okay" I figured he was probably just coming here to get it to make up for the times hes been an asshole to me. "Good. I will be over by 8pm tomorrow night. See you then." He said as he hung up the phone. "Bye" I said, knowing that there was really no one there to say 'bye' to.
'Oh shit, i forgot about Vic' I thought as I walked around my apartment. I searched all the rooms and the closets, but no one was there. No windows were opened so it's not like he jumped out of one. When I knew for a fact that I was the only one in my apartment, I decided it was safe to leave without anyone being there.
