I groaned and looked over at Becky, her head hung low and she was bleeding from a gash on her head.
Someone tapped on my window, I turned my head carefully towards the window and saw a man who looked like a puffy marshmallow. He started moving his mouth but I ignored him, I couldn't hear what he was saying anyways.
"Becky..... Becky..." My voice was so soft I could hardly hear it. I looked at the windshield that had broke, on the dark red hood was glass that had shattered. And brighter red. "Diablo...." A golden body appeared on the hood and poked its head in. "Good girl..."
In the faint background noise I could hear sirens getting louder and louder. Someone tapped on the window again, I didn't bother looking this time. Probably another marshmallow man.... I let my head drop against my chest, ready for a nap. But of course I wasn't allowed to do so.
There was a click and something brushed against my side, I whimpered and tried to move away. "It's okay, miss. We're going to help you and your friend get out okay? Can you tell me your name?"
Looking up slightly I see a man in a heavy looking jacket. That can't be comfortable... "L-La.. Lacey...."
"Okay Lacey, you're going to hear loud noises and things breaking. I'm going to place a blanket over you to protect you from splinters." He did indeed put a blanket over me. Barking started up as something broke.
-Lacey! Can you hear me!?
"Diablo....." People started shouting over the noise and it soon died to nothing as something jumped on my lap.
"Get out of there dog!"
"...She's her dog!"
"Mam' I'll have to ask you to wait until their finished cutting off the door."
"If you don't hurry I-"
"Mom.. Let them do their job."
The object on my lap shifted and spread out, then growled long and low. The blanket was removed from my face and I could've sworn that I saw my father in front of me. "Daddy....."
The man gave me a quizzical look and talked gently to Diablo, coaxing her off of my lap. "Come on girl, that's it. Your friend will be safe, I promise." She whined and the weight on my lap disappeared. I watched the man take the blanket all the way off, tears welled up in my eyes as he picked me up gently.
He placed me on a bed type thing in the back of what I'm guessing was the ambulance. Slamming the door closed and knocking on it, announced that we were off. The two people in the back with me started talking urgently and kept asking questions.
I tried following what they were saying but eventually got too tired to keep my eyes open.
---
Opening my eyes I found myself looking up at the night sky. Sighing I took a good look around and found myself back in the clearing.
Growls erupted around me as I sat up. Realizing that I wasn't alone, I took a glance down at my clothes and find that I'm wearing the same as before.
The growling grew closer until one of them became a full fledged battle cry. My vision blurred as the scene shifted into a more brutal, horrifying layout.
I was standing on top of a boulder that was surrounded by mauled bodies and large shapes lashing out at each other. Turning away from the scene before me I find Becky standing next to me in a beautiful blue dress that flowed like the ocean, just as startled and horrified as I.
I try speaking to her but all that escapes is a bark. She turned towards me and gasps at finding me next to her. But as I listened the noise died down, we both turned to the wolves and find them watching us with their ears pricked and tails lowered. All but seven wolves did this.
Those wolves were standing in front of the boulder with their heads and tails raised, lips peeled back in a vicious snarl. All watching the once fighting wolves.
Before I could utter a sound I fell to the boulder, instantly seeing nothing.
