Moonlight Dream

Moonlight slips through the shades as he lays asleep in my arms. His hair is the color of whipped chocolate and eyes as vibrant as golden brown honey. Soft breathing escapes parted lips when I hold him close, he's taken into another world through each passing second. I'm honored to guide him there, even more so to be sharing this moment in time, captured through our own photographs taken through our eyes. Warmth of bed sheets and his small frame keeps me bursting with the pleasure of holding another being. Everything he is, my reverie. Everything we are, written among the stars.

Nights like this remind me of little words spoken in the early morning light. Sweetness of "I love you" soaked into the silky white cream, inside the bitterness of a coffee heart. Afternoons spent picnicking above the reflection of pond water, laughing over the small talk and little things, they're etched into my memory. How he makes me feel will never fade, it will be strewn across the planets and envious moon. No two people could be as lucky as the boys who are together in this soft velvet bed. We are safe from the world, from the judgement that litters the atmosphere and fills us with burning tears. We are safeguarded from their arrows because we're in each others heart and nothing can burn it to ash.

A path of silver glitter hits the brunette and pale skin is illuminated with a brilliant light. Darkness creeps around me but I'm protected, I've got my light to break what I can't fight. The angel that sleeps before me is everything I will ever want and need, I no longer need to worry. I see him smiling, I do just the same, two halves of a full heart. Kissing him lightly on the forehead, I get lost in the swarm of animated hearts that cloud my weary head. One last kiss and I'm taken to where my lover waits for me, dreams of a better life for us two.

Moonlight hits and I'm fast asleep, without an empty heart.... Asleep with the taste of him on my lips. Tonight, a midnight moonlight dream.
