It was a emotional day, we woke up at 5AM for our flight to California. My mom wouldn't let me go, I swear we were hugging for like 15 minutes. Ugh clingy parents. My dad shook my hand and told me something I hadn't heard in a very long time "Trae, you're strong and brave, I'm very proud of you for doing this", "things like these takes guts, you have my respect".
Sidni gave her mom and dad hugs goodbye and told her family she loves them and would miss them. Destiny's family was a little less enthusiastic, they dropped her off at the front of the airport and just drove off with out saying a word. I felt sincerely sorry for her, her family didn't really like her that much, I never knew why. James's family gave him hugs and told him to comeback soon. (Tbh I think the only reason they like him is because he does their yard work.) we boarded the plane and put our stuff up. I had a window seat next to Destiny, we talked the whole time and I helped her calm down since she had never been on a plane before. I hoped Sidni and James were doing fine but I could see they had already used their barf bags, I wanted to help them but I couldn't keep my eyes off the scenery outside the window. It was beautiful. I could see the rolling plains and the mountains as they passed by, I could see giant clouds that toward into the atmosphere, they looked like a puffy version of Mount Everest. I could see thunder that zapped through the clouds like snakes. Me and Destiny talked the whole time about what we were going to do in Hawaii, she told me about how she was going to the beach to scout out all the hot guys and go to the mall. As for me I told her about how I was going to tour the huge volcano (the largest volcano on the planet btw) and how I was going to go hiking. She said I was weird. I also want to meet the local natives and learn about their culture, they have really cool mythology btw. I could hear Sidni babbling to James about all the boy bands, and James telling her how much he doesn't care and how much slip knot and other metal bands are way better. As I could see the sun finally setting over the Mojave desert, Destiny leaned on my shoulder and fell asleep, I was quite tired as well, I turned around and saw James asleep cradling his 2 phones in his arms, and Sidni cuddling her favorite boy band poster. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
