Corey's POV
The cold air pierced my lungs as I heard my feet hit the pavement. My breath was almost in sync with my converse smashing into the ground. I was so focused on the music blasting through my earbuds that I didn't notice that there was someone behind me until they hopped on my back.
"Cor!" she squealed. It was Sabrina. The prettiest girl I've ever laid eyes on. She also happened to be my best friend.
"Hey Sabs!" I replied cheerily.
Her eyes twinkled as rain drops started to fall from the fluffy white clouds up above.
"Do you know what today is?" she questioned with excitement.
"Hmmm," I replied playfully, "what's today?"
"Really Corey? You don't remember?" she replied with sarcasm.
"Of course I remember! How could I forget? It's your birthday!"
Her cheeks beamed with excitement.
"Here I got you this," I said pulling out a box covered with yellow wrapping paper and a sparkly bow.
She gasped. "You didn't have to get me anything."
"Let's open it inside, it's really starting to pour." I grabbed her hand as we ran onto the set.
As soon as we got inside, the cast screamed "Surprise!" Sabrina burst into giggles when she realized I had planned all of this.
"Corey, you didn't have to do any of this. I would've been fine with cake and ice cream," she explained. She loved that combo and she knew that I did too.
"I know, but I wanted to do something special. You just turned 17. I wanted to make it just as special as your Sweet 16."
I heard a chorused "awh" from behind us.
"Really guys?" I complained.
"C'mon, let's go get some cake," Sabrina giggled as she grabbed my hand.
I placed some candles on top of the frosted chocolate cake. As everyone sang "Happy Birthday" with two part harmony, I lit the candles.
"Make a wish!" She closed her eyes and blew out the little flames that were kindling on top of the colorful candles. As soon as her eyes fluttered open, I placed my gift in her hand. She started to carefully unwrap it until Auggie decided to show her how to really open her present. Within seconds wrapping paper was scattered across the room. She gasped as she opened the little box. Inside were two tickets to see Hamilton on Broadway.
"Thank you so much Cor! I cannot wait to see it!" she squealed as she squeezed me tight.
"Of course! I knew how much you loved that play." I replied as I hugged her.Hey guys! That was my first Corbrina oneshot! I really hope you liked it.
I would love it if you left me some feedback. Requests are also open, so if you have any requests, I will do my best to bring that idea to life.
I love you guys so much!
Love, Jordan
