The bell rung. I guess this really is where the saying "saved by the bell" comes into play. I gathered my things and headed for the door with Rowan at my side.
"Wait up!" I heard someone say. I turned around to see Corey.
"Hey," I responded, flustered.
"Do you want to meet up after school? To do homework?" Corey asked scratching the back of his neck.
"I think I'm available, how about you Sabs?" Rowan responded, being my voice. I nodded.
"Great! See you guys later," he said as he headed in the opposite direction.
"I've never seen you so flustered," Rowan said trying to start a conversation.
"I know! It's horrible! I wish I could just have a normal conversation with him."
"Just try to get to know him," she suggested, "ask him questions, let him do the talking."
"Yeah, I guess so," I shrugged.

Before I knew it, school was over and I was meeting Rowan at her locker.
"Just remember to breathe," Rowan whispered as Corey headed over to us.
"Hey!" Corey greeted.
"Hi! Where should we go to study?" I asked, trying to keep my cool.
"The library?" Rowan suggested.
"Sounds good to me!" Corey replied.
As the three of us headed over to the library, Corey and I started a conversation and I could feel my nerves slipping away.
"Where's Rowan?" I turned around and saw her chatting with someone else. I laughed and she gave me the look that said 'go, have fun!'
"I'll be there shortly!" Rowan called after us.
I got in Corey's car and we resumed our conversation until we got to the library. He opened the door for me.
"Thanks," I smiled.
"No problem," he winked, causing me to blush.
Our hands brushed and I laughed awkwardly as I pulled my hand away. My eyes locked with his and he started to lean in. I gasped as our lips touched. Thousands of butterflies exploded in my stomach. We pulled apart when we heard Rowan squeal. I blushed as Corey laughed at our interruption.
"C'mon, let's go inside," I said, breaking the silence. Rowan opened the door and let us in.
I felt my fingers intertwine with Corey's as we headed inside. Tonight was perfect.
