"NOO!" I wake up reaching out with one hand. When I finally notice that I was in my bedroom, I put my hand down and sigh. "It was only a bad dream."

I get out of bed and notice that it was 5:00 am. I got dress in the dim light of my room as usual. I put on black leather leggings, a burgundy T-shirt, and a leather jacket over it. After I put my long, black combat boots on, I go to my window and look out upon the small town. As the sun raises, I whisper to myself. "If only I knew what my nightmare means."

My name is Movitaka Thorn. I am turning 16 tomorrow and I am a freshman at St. Roman high school. I live with my mother and my big brother, Dean, which is getting on my nerves with him knocking on the door every morning. We live in a little town called Baton, even though I get lost in this town pretty easily. I was born on October 13th. I have long raven black hair, pale tan skin, and, what my mom says, Indian red eye color.

Dean bangs on my door. "Mova! Come on, you got to eat breakfast unless you want to make it to school early!" He opens my door without a warning. His midnight-black hair has always been put in a ponytail, and his brown eyes always sparkle, even in the darkest hours. He is 17 years old. Born a year and a month before me. He's a sophomore jock at our school and he always goes early. He's wearing a tight black T-shirt under his school jacket and a pair of Jocky jeans from the denim company, Jockey Denim co. His favorite place to shop and work at.

"Okay! I'm coming!" I yelled. "And get the heck out of my room!"

"Why do you always say that when nothing goes on in here, Aka?" He says. I always hated that nickname. I grab my backpack and run downstairs looking annoyed. "Mom!"

"What is it dear?" My mom comes into the dining room. Her smile can get anyone to smile. Her light black hair shines every time light hits it.

"Mom, he keeps calling me Aka. Why did you give me that name?"

"I didn't name you sweety. A friend of mine did."

"Well why didn't she say a different name? Something like your name. Regina would fit me perfectly."

"Well you can't take my name. That and the person was really special to me. And she died before you came. That's why I gave you that name. Now both of you sit down and eat your breakfast." Mom might look like a gentle angel on the outside, but she can make anyone get sent to the hospital. We sat down and ate the usual eggs and bacon.

As the clock hit 6:35, we went out the door. We walked to the bus stop in silence. But, like always, it didn't last long.

"So...how was your night?" My brother ask. He hates the fact that I don't talk much. But hey, what do you expect from a lonely emo girl who daydreams almost every time? Me to talk about every single thing in life?

"I guess you can say I had a rough night."

"Why?" He asks, stopping in his tracks.

I turn around to him, looking annoyed at that stupid question. "Because I keep having these nightmares! What else?!" I turn around and kept on walking. Dean runs up to me. But how did he catch up to me so fast? "How did you..."

"What kind of nightmares? Are they the same ones? Do they repeat?"

"Yes! Now can you let go of my arms?! You're hurting me!" He looks at me confused. Then he notice that his hands were squeezing my arms tightly. He lets go. Dean has a thing for dreams and nightmares. He has been studying them since 8th grade. I guess that's his hobby. But he doesn't tell anyone. Which is weird.

"Sorry. What's the dream about?" He ask.

"Um..." I thought for a moment then decided to close my eyes to remember better. "There were two women and a man, the queen, king, and a maiden. She was holding a little baby. I didn't get a good look at the maiden cause she went into some portal with the baby." I open my eyes. "Next thing I knew, the tower was tumbling and falling. I saw a part of the ceiling falling and I tried to save the king and queen but I end up waking up screaming."

"Hmmm...." He thinks for a moment. Before he could say anything else, we hear fast steps and a high 7-year-old voice.

"SEMPAI*!!!!" Anna jumps on my brother's back almost making him lose his balance. I was glad that I step back from my brother. As Dean tried to get Anna off of him, I took pictures.

"Say cheese, big brother." I laugh.

He finally got Anna off of his back. "Mova, don't you dare send that to anyone! I mean it!"

"Too late. I already sent it to Anna and James." I laugh some more. "Hey Anna. Where's Dawn?"

James comes running down the street towards us. He comes to a sliding halt in front of us, catching his breath.

"I'm...here...tired...but here..." He says in between breaths.

Other than me, Anna Queen and James Dawn are the only goth kids that didn't join the gothic emo club at school. Even though they wish we did. Anna is older by a month. Even though she can sound younger and older than her actual age. Her silver bang hides her left eye while the other shows her golden eye color. She was dress in her favorite little black swan dress that she made, long, black and white stockings, and black combat boot just like mine... but shorter.

James was born on Hallows' eve, which I envy cause I love Halloween. His midnight high schooler look is amazing. His slash black leather jacket and black denim jeans and black sneakers makes him look like the king of all goths. People thought of him as a dark lord. His dirty blond hair with black highlights somehow give it that cool effect. To be honest, some people might confuse Anna and Dawn as brother and sister instead of Gothic lovers. But I have to admit, they do look alike. Probably because they spend so much time together.

"Hey Dawn," I say. "How come Anna can run much faster than you and she's older than you?"

"Because... I am out of shape...that's why." We all laugh.

As we walk our way to school, a black car drove pass us. As if in slow motion, the car drove slowly passed me. I can almost make out the person driving through the tinted glass. It was a teenage boy, about my age, and he was staring straight at me. As I zoom out of the window I notice my eyes glowing crimson. I shook my head in disbelief. Time seem to speed up. Another car drove pass us. As I look at my reflection again. My eye color was perfectly back to normal. But what was that I saw a minute ago?

"Movitaka?" Anna place a caring hand on my shoulder. "Are you OK?" The only reasons why Anna would say my full name is she's either mad, worried, or upset.

I look where the mysterious car use to be and a chill went down my spine. "Yea." I said. "I'm alright. Come on lets go." I started walking ahead. I turn around to them. "Well are y'all coming or what?" I smile. They run up to where I am at and we walked to school without asking any more questions.
