I'm really nervous for this one. I don't know marriage or proposal stuff for the water tribes. I'm gonna do it kind of like previous Makorra stuff like this I've seen. I won't do it exactly though, I'm not that kind person. So don't think badly of me. Im also more into my other story, so this one won't be updated quite as much. I really love all the reads I'm getting, but please read my other story, too. It would mean a lot. Just please, give it a shot? I am putting more time in this one though because I see how many reads its getting. Well, here goes.

~5 Years Later~
MAKO'S POV
I rubbed my hands together. I'm not used to these Southern Water tribe temperatures. I pulled my scarf over my nose. Why does Korra live someplace so cold? A new blast of cold air hit me as Tonraq walked in. He sat down across from me.
"So what brings you here Mako? something important, I guess. You do realize you could've come down in two weeks, with Korra," Tonraq questioned.
"Actually, this is about Korra," I replied, trying not to look nervous.
"It is?" Tonraq looked genuinely worried. "Nothing's happened to her, right?"
"Oh of course not!" I said hurriedly. "I was coming to ask for your blessing so I can propose to Korra," I closed my eyes. When I opened them, Tonraq didn't look surprised or angry.
"It's about time!" he let out a hearty laugh. I gave a small chuckle. "If you don't already know, we don't use rings like some of you big city people. Here, the man makes a unique proposal necklace to propose with. Think you can handle that?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Of course, sir," I smiled. I couldn't wait.
"However," Tonraq started. "if you break my daughter's heart i'll-"
Senna, Korra's mother, thankfully walked in then.
"What's going on in here?" she asked. I don't usually visit the South Pole, so she must be confused.
"Mako here is going to make a proposal necklace for Korra," Tonraq answered.
Senna's eyes lit up. "Oh, really! I can't wait! You two are perfect for each other."
"Yes, well, thank you!" I hurried into the cold air so I wouldn't have to find out what Tonraq would do to me.
KORRA'S POV
"Aren't you excited?" Asami asked. She was laying on my bed with her favorite fashion magazine. I looked at her hand. It had a ring with a small diamond on it. Her and Iroh had been married for two years. I sighed.
"Yeah, it'll be fun to go to the south with Mako," I replied. It had kind of been last minute when he asked to come with. He said he had a special evening planned for when we were there. I put another shirt in my bag before closing it.
"Well that should be everything," I said as I sat on my bed next to Asami.
"Korra! This dress would look amazing on you! It's in that little boutique, too. You know, that one I got you those shoes from?" Asami rushed.
"I guess it is pretty," I said thoughtfully.
"You have a special date with Mako on your trip, right?"
"Right..."
"I'm getting you an early birthday present!" Asami practically yelled in my ear. I smiled. The dress was ocean blue with thin straps. It flowed to the ground and shimmered. It would be perfect for my date.
"Lets go shopping!" Asami sang. She grabbed my wrists and pulled me out the door.
MAKO'S POV
I looked down at my work. I wasn't any jewelry maker, but this did turn out pretty good. The charm was red with the water tribe symbol. The strap was braided with red and blue ribbons. I hoped it was enough. I turned where I was sitting and faced Bolin.
"Hey, Bo. What do you think?" I asked.
Bolin's eyes widened and a huge smile spread across his face. "Woah! It's like both of your elements in a necklace!" Bolin seemed genuinely impressed. Then again, it didn't take that much. "So, uh, what's the occasion?"
"You can't tell anybody Bolin," I said with a straight face. He still hasn't grown up very much. He's like Tenzin's brother, Bumi.
"Okay, okay. I won't. Now tell me!" Bolin was practically jumping up and down.
I smiled. "I'm going to ask Korra to marry me."
His jaw dropped. "Really? That's so awesome! Why didn't you tell me before?!" Now he WAS jumping up and down.
"I don't want you to ruin the surprise, Bo. It wouldn't be the first time."
"What? When have I spread secrets?"
"Remember when I told you I was taking Korra to Ember Island? When I showed her the ferry tickets she said that you had already told her about it."
"Oh, right."
I shook my head as I went to finish packing.
KORRA'S POV
I stood on the boat deck next to Mako. We were about ten minutes away from the dock.
"Do you want to sit down?" Mako asked. I nodded as we walked over to where Naga was laying down. We sat on the ground and leaned into Naga's side. She shifted slightly before continuing her nap.
"So where are you taking me?" I asked. I was terrible at waiting.
"You mean besides the water tribe?" he said with a sly grin.
"Oh, you know what I'm talking about!" I slapped his arm.
"I know. The date's location is a surprise," he said. I slid down more and pouted.
"I don't know how long I can take this!" I groaned.
"Relax! We're here!" Mako said as we finally pulled into the docks.
MAKO'S POV
It was the night of the date. Korra wouldn't stop asking me about it! I almost gave in once or twice. She was very persistent. I shook my head, smiling, as I knocked on her door. It opened slowly, and I was shocked. She looked gorgeous, from the blue dress to the curled hair that fell over her shoulder.
I cleared my throat. "A-Are you ready to go?" I asked. It came out shakier than expected. She just gave a light laugh.
"Of course! I've been waiting for years!" she exclaimed. I took her hand and we got on the snow mobile. I probably could've picked some nicer transportation, but this was faster. We put on our helmets and she climbed into the side. I got on beside her and we were off.
I took Korra to a very special location. It was where our second kiss was. And where she got her bending back. I had it set up perfectly. There was a tent near the cliff, that stayed nice and warm on the inside. I hurried off the snow mobile to help Korra out.
KORRA'S POV
Wow, it looks amazing. He set up a tent where out first kiss was. He was so thoughtful. He pulled aside the door for me, and I was in shock. He had set up a candlelight dinner. There was water tribe noodles, my favorite! I walked to the table and took a seat and Mako took a seat across from me.
"What do you think?" asked Mako.
"Did you set all of this up by yourself? It's amazing." I said in awe.
"Well, your dad helped with the tent. And your mom helped with the noodles. Other than that, all done by me. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you." I blushed. "Korra, you are the most amazing person I have ever met, and also a great Avatar, by the way. I love you." He reached over and grabbed my hand. This was perfect, but I'm not always very good with words. "Korra, I don't ever want you to leave me."
"Don't worry, I'll always be here. I love you too." I squeaked out. My throat was getting tighter. It wasn't like me to get emotional. He stood up and walked beside my chair before getting down on one knee.
"I don't think you will, but I'm not taking and chances. Avatar Korra, will you marry me?" He held out a beautiful betrothal necklace. I nearly fell out of my chair. H-He proposed. He proposed!!!
"Of course!" I cried. I took his head into my hands and pressed my lips onto his. He kissed me back passionately before pulling away. He reached around my neck and tied on the necklace. I lifted my hand and touched the red Water tribe symbol. We both smiled before kissing again.
