Chapter 2

The next day as I pulled up to work I saw Zeus leaning on a blue Porsche with some caramel chick whispering in his ear. She had tight tight booty shorts on a black halter top on with these tall pumps. I got out my car and I walked past him.

"Whats up Brooklyn?" He said to me. The girl was looking me up and down.

"I don't know the sky." I replied softly. He just shook his head as he wrapped his arms around the girl.

"Aye I heard of you. You're Brooklyn the tattoo artist. Girl your artwork is dope as hell!" The chick replied twirling her weave with her fingers.

"Yeah I guess that's me. I need to clock in." I said as I walked past them. I clocked in and I set up my station. Zeus walked in later to do the same. I was eyeing him the whole time. I got my first customer if the day. I took her in the back. She wanted a peacock across her entire arm. So I did her a fresh sketch. It was beautiful. I begin on her, then Zeus came in the room.

He was peaking over my shoulder.

"Can I help you nigga?" I said as I was focusing on my work.

"That's a nice tat right there shorty!" Zeus said as he was touching my hair. I would go crazy but I don't want to mess up this tattoo right now it looks like one of my best designs. Plus this had meaning to my client and I wasn't gonna F this tat up!

"Boo can you take a break? I don't want to screw your tat up because my nosy co worker is disturbing the peace." I said looking at a smiling Zeus.

" ok." My client said as she laughed and went out into the lobby.

"Can I help you Mr.Zeus?" I said folding my arms.

"Yeah shorty I want you to do a tattoo for someone I know." He said sitting down in a chair.

"Um they can make a appointment just like anyone else. They ain't no different." I said filling up my ink again.

"I'm no different..." Zeus said staring into my eyes with his hazel eyes. I started turning red.

"No!" I spat out laughing.

Zeus smirked.

"Alright you got jokes ma." He said getting out the chair.

"I'm not your ma. I need to finish her tat so you needs to bounce." I said smirking at him just like how he would do me.

"Promise to go to lunch with me today? I will get out if you don't I won't leave." He said giving me options.

"Um...ugh. Lunch is less than you pestering me all got durn day....I will go." I replied nonchalantly. He smiled and he walked out. My client came back in. I started to finish up. It was done. It was a peacock with a Queen's crown on its head. It had purple,blue,green,and pink tones. It was gorgeous.

" We finish boo!" I announced. She got up and looked in the mirror.

" Oh my god it's so fresh!..." she started crying. I gave her a hug. I knew this tattoo meant a lot to her. You see shorty had cancer in the past. Her boyfriend stayed with her when her hair was falling out and she was getting skinny and pale with the cancer. He always told her she was beautiful no matter what. But homie got killed in a accident. So she got the tattoo in memory of homie her first love. Peacocks represent beauty.

I only do tattoos with meaning to me and the client. Unlike that two dollar trick that came to me the other day. Afterwards I saw it was lunch time. That tat took me half the day and I got paid too. So I'm not complaining. I sat in the lobby waiting for Zeus.i can't believe I'm going out to lunch with this dude and I have only known him for two days. Well what ever and yesterday I cursed his butt out. Zeus came out the room and saw me and he turned red. I smiled a little but not too much.

"You up and ready lil mama huh?" Zeus said as we were walking out the shop. I rolled my eyes.

"Where you want to eat at?" He asked as he walked me over to his car.

"How about Chipotle? You like Mexican food." I asked as I sat in his car. It had a fresh new car smell to it and it was a dope ride.

"Chipotle it is lil mama!" Zeus said as he started up his car. He turned on the radio to a Eazy E song. We were singing every word.

"What you know about Eazy E?" Zeus said looking at me grinning.

"I know a thing or two about a thing or two." I said bumping my head to the music.

"That was a deep quote you just said. I might use that sometimes." Zeus said as he finally pulled up the restaurant. We walked inside and stood in line.

"Yo let me get a hard taco with grilled chicken,cheese,beef,tomatoes,and sour cream,onions,bell peppers,and lettuce. And for my girl get her the same." Zeus said. I punched him in his shoulder.

"WTF I did now!" He said rubbing his shoulder.

"I can order for myself. Thank you very much. Plus I'm not your girl nor do I want that nasty taco you just ordered." I said to him.

"I know you can order for yourself but I want you to try something new shorty. So don't sweat it. In the future you gonna be my girl so get used to the idea of us." Zeus said as got us both sodas and I grabbed the tacos.we sat at a table.

"I'm scared to eat that taco. I don't like tacos with everything on it like that." I said playing with my taco.

"Try it shorty!" Zeus said. I grabbed the taco and I ate it. It wasn't bad it was kind of good. But I wasn't going to let Zeus know that.

"How is it shorty?" Zeus said finishing the last bite of his taco. I shrugged my shoulders as I took another bite. Zeus smirked at me. Then I noticed his eyes directed somewhere elsewhere behind me. I turned around and I saw him staring at this spanish girls butt who was wearing a pair of tights. I immediately got angry. I grabbed my soda and threw it at him.

"You are a dog!" I said as I walked out restaurant. Dang! He was my ride back to the shop. I saw him come out the restaurant pissed off.

"Why you throwing drinks at me?" He said pissed off. He then got his drink and threw at me.

"You ass!" I screamed back. People were looking at us.

"I know if I'm a ass you a ass too!" Zeus said as he got in his car and sped off. I was looking like a fool. I started walking. I finally reached the shop. I was late. I walked in the shop and everybody was staring at me. I just ignored then as I walked to my station. I looked over and saw Zeus at my station looking at me. I cut my eyes at him and he just laughed. I gave him the finger.

"I guess lunch ain't go so well huh?" Niko said to me as he was doing a girls tattoo. I gave him this look that read what do you think. I looked at Zeus who had this look. If looks could kill I would be murdered!!! Just then Black Sam rushed in and said he had a proposition for me and Zeus. He invited us to his office.

"Look I don't give a rats butt on what beef y'all have. I Don't care for it. But I do care about cash and this shop. So it's this convention they have. Every person who attends gets paid 5,000! You do tattoos at the convention. It last about 3 days. And it's at the ritz Carlton. I could only afford to get one room. Are y'all in?" He said to us.

"No!" I said.

"Hell no!!" Zeus said. Black Sam slammed his hands on the desk.

"I gave y'all a choice. Look either you go or you fired." He said looking at us.

It was just dead silence for a whole 10 minutes.

"Ain't no female coming between my money. I'm in!" Zeus said as he walked out. Black Sam folded his arms and looked at me. I was livid to say the least!

"Fine!!!!" I yelled as I pushed the chair and I stormed out the office. I walked back to my station and got my next customer for the day. I didn't even give my all in this tat because I was angry. But my customer he liked it. I kept staring at Zeus who was staring at me.
