Chapter 1 || Goodbyes

Brittany's P.O.V.

Saying goodbye is really hard.

Especially If you knew that person for a long period of time. Or maybe even if they where in your life for a short time but they where the one that was always their for you. They had your back no matter what, stuck with you, & always made that smile appear on your face.

They where the reasons why you where still alive...

Those two persons that made me feel all those things where my parents. I had to say goodbye to my Mom and dad when I was around 11-12 years old. They supposedly died in a car crash. I never believed it. Why? I refuse to believe what the humans think.

Humans? Right I said humans. I'm not all human you see. I am a mermaid. I bet you're saying no dipshit you idiot it says in your stupid story title. I know, well anyways back to my story.

The saddest day of my life was when I found out what really happened to my parents. It was all my fault. They risked their lives to make sure I was kept alive. And that is what made me fill with guilt and pain. I made sure to make myself forget on what happened in the last 17 years of my life.

I still wondered what really happened to my parents. My older siblings tried to keep the real truth away. They told me a few things, but not too much. My parents didn't deserve to die. Especially since they where not only loving wonderful parent's but they also had people who where Loyal to them. They where the king and queen of Coria. My heart clenched as I thought more about this. I snapped back to reality as I watched others walk towards their friends saying goodbye to them.

Let me explain and let you get a bit catch up. My name is Brittany Organs and I am currently waiting next to my best friends car. I was at my high school; Western High. The only reason I was waiting was because me and my best friend Claire Reece where waiting on a special friend.

"What are you thinking about?" Claire asked snapping her fingers in front of my face. I shrugged.

"Nothing." She narrowed her eyes at me. She was about to say something when someone called out names.

"Brittany, Claire!" Jake waved his hand in the air running towards us. When he reached us he gave us a sad smile.

"I can't believe you're leaving..." He sighed.

"We're sorry." Claire quietly replied. "We wish we could stay but we can't. We have to go."

"I know. I'm going to miss you guys." He gave Claire one last hug. She muttered him a few words in his ear making him chuckle.

"Of course." He gave her one last wink. He turned towards me.

"Bye Jake" I hugged him tightly. I probably won't see him for a while.

"Bye Bree" He gave me a small hug. He was my best guy friend. He was the shoulder I cried on. The one who made me laugh. The one I will miss when I go to Hawaii. Well that is the plan unless it changes.

"Take care of yourself no more trouble" I warned letting out a chuckle.

"Yes, I know" He rolled his eyes and gave me one last hug and goodbye. I walked towards Claire's Car sadly. We graduated yesterday but we had to come to school for an hour to collect our stuff of supplies. I knew I couldn't find a job. I don't even know why I cake to school. But now looking back at it. I don't regret it. I made new friends, new enemies, new crushes, and new teachers. I was happy.

I got into the passenger side of the car and grinned as I looked outside to see Claire giving Jake a hug and saying goodbye. They would be cute together.

"Let's get going" She climbed into the drivers seat. I gave her a look. "Thinking about how great of a couple we could be? Not happening."

"I know. To the airport." I sighed sadly as we drove away. I took one last look before turning towards the window.

"I'll miss this old town." I said. Claire nodded in agreement.

"Let's save our memories and make new one's" Claire said trying to lighten up the mood. I smiled a bit and nodded.

"We're going to make new memories together!" I grinned.

"Dude where the hell is Kyle" Claire groaned looking around wildly.

"He said he'll meet us right beside the line" I replied wearily. I looked around some more and spotted a sandy blonde hair inside a little food shop looking at the food in wonder.

"Did you find him yet?" Claire looked at her watch.

"Yes. Look at where he is" I pointed towards the store.

"That little...." Claire stomped over to the food shop, me trailing behind her wearily. Great she's going to make a scene.

"Hey Kyle" I dryly greeted.

"Wha-!?" He gave me a surprised look.

"What the f*** are you doing here?" Claire hissed.

"I'm not going with you guys anymore" He quietly said. I felt my heart clench.

"Why?" I asked quietly.

"Because I have problems to deal with at the kingdom" He whispered the last part. I sighed he had a good reason. The people come first.

"I get it" I softly replied. Lately people at the Coria kingdom have been creating an army without consulting My sisters and brother, to destroyed the person who killed my parents. Wasn't working out to great. It was getting out of control.

"Attention Passengers who are boarding Flight to Hawaii, the plane leaves in 5 minutes!" I always hated these people who did the speakers thing. It always ruined the nice moment.

"I guess this is goodbye " Kyle looked at me waiting for a reaction. I gave him a nod.

"Bye Kyle. Take care, I wish you the best." I gave him one last tight hug. I could feel the tears slide down my cheeks. Saying goodbye to your only brother and not being able to see them for about 2 months sucks. I know it's not long but he's the one that took care of me along with My sisters. I'm pretty sure Claire thought I was being over dramatic but you never know what could happen.

"Bye Brittany take care" I felt him place a kiss on ny head. I gave him one last hug and walked away.

I could hear Claire and him saying their goodbyes I didn't dare turn around or else I would've balled up on the middle of the floor crying. I did not want to break down. Not here. Not now.

Good bye Kyle, & goodbye home was the last thing I thought before getting into a line with people lining behind me.

I just hate saying goodbye.
