It had been a hectic day at the hospital. Kelly had been running around the hospital nonstop for hours- with the attacks by the military increasing with each minute, the hospital had gone wild and is now cramped with patients and orphans.
As a sharp voice rang out from behind her, Kelly skidded to a stop and turned on her heel, eyes meeting Mr. Rowen's who stood there, motioning her to come. Kelly threw the patient to the doctor standing beside her, then trotted over to Mr. Rowen, careful with her footing as she avoided the refugees sitting on the floor.
Mr. Rowen nodded curtly and turned to the patient that he was previously attending to- a man in his mid 30s. "This man, Wright , has lost his 2 children during a fire started by the army. You'd better avoid talking to him about this subject." "I know what to do." Kelly assured Mr. Rowen, who rubbed his forehead with exhaustion, then walked off. 'He must've been working all day.' Kelly thought to herself. Then turned to the patient, scribbling on her clipboard and tapping it with her pen. The man on the bed looked into a blank space with eyes like a black hole, as if the soul has left the body and left nothing but a shell. Kelly sighed, looking at the man wrapped in bandages with sympathy, then continued scribbling on her clipboard when a loud gunshot was heard, followed by shouting and continuous footsteps.
Kelly froze when she saw the number of soldiers running down the hallway. 'About 50...' she thought to herself. She was petrified when she realized the leader of this army, she then shook in fright and anger, "Mr. Ford..." she managed to spit out his name. She clutched her fists to prevent them from punching the man in front of her.
Mr. Ford snickered with his arms crossed in front of his chest, "Surprised? You said I can't have anything my way, but actually, I can." He laughed wickedly, "and now, that filthy puppet shall be mine!"
He ordered the soldiers to search every room, to find the girl, and to take her in when the General stood there, took out his gun, and then bellowed, "this hospital is now under the control of the military. I now order everyone not to move!"
The orphans sat down in a huddle while the couples grabbed their children and held them tightly against their chest. The hospital was filled with confusion and screams that no one noticed Ivy lying against a wall, listening to every word that man had said. Her brain had no time to react until a thought slipped into her head.
She must flee.
