Ivy sat up and found herself alone. She placed her hand on her chest and listened carefully to the beating sounds of her heart. "It's stable. Good." She sighed in relief.
She then found her belongings on the round table nearby. She doesn't have much, really. She grabbed her clothes, folded neatly on the round table, and wore them hastily, then stopped and stared at the necklace, sitting there innocently.
She rubbed the pendant softly, it made her think of her late-mother, she then smiled and thought, "Kelly's just like mother. She embraced me, just as what mother used to do." She put the necklace around her neck and placed the pendant against her chest when the door opened.
Uniformed, Ivy slightly jumped back. Her eyes widened in fear as she saw the general walk in.
His uniform and mustache made him look slightly giant-like to Ivy (despite the difference in size). The general slowly cornered her without much effort and looked right into her eyes. Ivy placed her left hand on the wall and lifted up her right hand in defence.
They stayed in that position for seconds before the general began to speak, "your daddy is dead. You won't be seeing him again. Do you know why? Little girl?" Ivy was disgusted, for it was obvious that he was trying to speak condescendingly, "because he was resisting arrest. You know what that means? Disobedient people must be punished."
"I never asked." Ivy replied, taking the general aback. He did not expect a fragile child to speak that way, "He's going to die anyway. He told me himself. He chose to die that way. He chose to be a hero!" "Don't you dare talk to me like that you silly girl!" the general snarled and slapped Ivy in the face, hard, grabbing her by the collar.
"You are just like your father! Nothing but a puppet! You filthy animal!" The general spat at her, his face red in anger and gasped for some air.
He was so furious that he didn't notice Kelly standing at the doorway, the same clipboard in her hands and her face terrified. "Mr. Ford! What do you think you are doing? You are entering without permission, disturbing our patients, and in this case, intimidating a harmless girl! You may be the general, Mr. Ford, it doesn't mean you can do everything your way!"
She then walked up to Ivy, picked her up gently, then put her back onto the bed. She was obviously terrified, her face white and her expression in shock.
Kelly then walked up to Mr. Ford, her arms crossed, and glared at him, "Leave." She commanded, "You are not welcomed here. Leave." She repeated.
Mr. Ford glared at her with his beady little eyes, then he got up, and approached the door. "Wait." A voice behind him spoke. He looked back and saw Ivy sitting on the bed, her eyes full of hatred, "I'll kill you." The words shot out like venom, "you are the virus, I'll start with the germs, then I will find you, you'll see, you wait. On that day, I will have my revenge."
The general was stunned, but since he had received more curses than normal, he stalked out of the room, head high and unaware.
