[Y/n POV]
Me and Gabe has been bestfriends since we were kids. I love spending time with him. The best part of our friendship is we are neighbours so it's easy if we want to have a sleep over or whatever. I can see him throught his bedroom window and he do to. We sometimes having a late night 'whiteboard convo'. We write down our text in a white board with a mark. Then we having a convo with that. Our bedroom is connected by a big tree in my garden. But we never climb to that tree and go to each others bedroom bc we're too scared.
Oh anyway, me and Gabe always go to the same school. From kindergarden, middle school, junior high school and this is where we are at the high school. We were going to college in 2 months. Sadly, we are not going to the same college. I'm going to Arizona and he is going to San Diego. It was about 3 until 5 have hours away but it's way too far from my apartment in Arizona. Thank God we're still in high school now. I think I'm gonna miss him later.
So today is 1 week before the prom. Tbh no one ask me to go to the prom. My bestie, Callista already asked to a prom by Julies. And me ? No one. But I think only one boy left. It's Jack. He is cool but very mysterious. So no girls want to get near him. He is cool for me but I don't know if he already got a prom date or nah. Oh I forgot to ask Gabe if he already have a prom date or nah. But probably, he would already got a prom date because he is famous and yea many girls have a crush on him but he told me he had a crush on Alexa, the school most popular girl. Well maybe Gabe would ask her to the prom.
Then I plopped on my bed and see my phone. So many of my friends are posting a photo of them and their date. Well I think I'm the only one who hasn't got a prom date. Then I hear a knock from my window. I ignore it because I thought it was just a branches from the big tree. But the knock keep on going and I saw a shadow from my curtains. I was got a bit scared. I took a baseball bat for my protection and I open the curtains. I was really surprised because I saw Gabe's face in front of me. Then he just kept knocking and told me to open the window. So I open the window for him and he just get inside really quick.
"What the heck are you doing ? Are you Peter Pan or something that going to take me to Neverland or what ?" I said with still a little shocked.
"Okay so this is the problem. First, you're not Wendy Darling. Second, I'm not Peter Pan." He said and breath in and out.
"Fine. So what the heck sends you here ?" I ask and try to be calm.
"Uh.. the wind and the fairy dust." He answered.
"I'm not joking butthead." I said with a straight face.
"Okay.. well.. I'm bored so.... here I am. Trying to find my "FUN" and I'm not searching for my shadows because it's still right here." He said and still around that stupid Peter Pan topic.
"Okay whatever I know you like Peter Pan but let's just change the topic." I said and he just plopped to my bed.
"So where is it ?" He ask.
"Where is what ?" I ask confusedly because I got not idea what's he talking about.
"Your prom date." He said and take an opened bag of chip on my table.
"I don't know. No one ask me. But I think Jack Jack is going to ask me out." I answer with a little proud but honestly I'm not proud at all.
"That mysterious Jack Jack is going to ask you out ? Ha ! In your dreams." He just laughing while eating my chips.
"Ugh.. you can't feel me." I said and rolled my eyes then plopped to the bed and lay beside him.
"I do feel you." He said while chewing the chips.
"What do you mean ?" I ask him.
"I don't have any prom date." He said simply and keep on chewing my chips.
"Where are those girls that have a crush on you ?" I asked.
"Dunno." His answer is really simple and he look at the bag of chips and realized it's empty.
"Do you have any chips ? I'm hungry." He said like a 3 years old kid.
Tbh Gabe always steals my food, my snack, my hoodie and everything. I think he is addicted to my stuff. I still remember he keep my pink blanket when we were in middle school and he still not return it until now. Last time I saw it on his bed on the top of his pillow.
"Oh it's right there and I got 3 cans of soda. Maybe you can bring me one here." I said and he take a bag of chips and 2 can of soda, one for me and one for him.
"So are you planing to ask someone to the prom or nah ?" I ask him.
"Of course I do." He answer.
"And it's going to be Alexa Lester. The most beautiful girl in da world." He continue and our eyes locked.
"Great while I'm just gonna wait my Jacky Romeo come to my house with a white horse and ask me to the prom." I rolled my eyes and he laugh.
"He won't do it. Maybe he will come to your house with a flying broom instead of a white horse." He laugh and I just rolled my eyes.
"Let's just see later. And plus he is not a witch." I said to him.
"Alright whatever. See you little girl." He pinch my nose and climb back the tree and back to his house.
I can see him waving his hand through the window and I can see his warm smile. Then I wave back and I close my curtains.
Tbh I feel like a knife stabbed my back when he said he is going to ask Alexa to the prom. I just feel like "wow". He can be cute sometimes but he can be rude too. But I don't know if I can live without him in the college. I will miss us really fast. I don't know if he felt the same. I always felt butterfly in my stomach everytime I saw him and everytime we together but... I think he choose another girl.
I'm free tomorrow so maybe I'll text him so we could hangout maybe or whatever. I just want to hangout with him.
