Chapter 2.2: The Engagement Set-up

Eirick's POV:

This is the night that I've been waiting for.To formally meet my future wife.He secretly grin,actually I saw her picture and I'm sure she's pretty...oh scratch that,she is everything a man can dreamt of.

When I first saw Monique's picture,halos malaglag ako sa pagkakaupo.Nag-uunahan sa pagpintig ang puso ko at natulala ako.Which is weird.I never felt something like that.

At noong gabi sa bar ay nagulat talaga ako ng makita ko siya.My heart erratically beat for the woman and I silently thanked my parents na pinagkasundo ako sa kanya.

I was hoping that she'd recognized me but all I can see was disgust in her beautiful face.And I can only described her as a fiery woman that night.

But tonight will be different,gagawin ko ang lahat to win her heart and make her fall for me.

"Hijo,Monigue will be down here any minute.Are you ready?", nakangiting tanong ng papa niya.

"Yes,Pa",giniya na nila ako sa pwesto ko and as if on cue, I automatically hear a romantic music on the background.

All this preparation for this night have been set in the best possible way.

Flowers are arranged all over the mansion.And the table setting is done in a way na parang nasa fairy tale castle ka.

You will see a long table setting in a gold and red cover with all the silverwares in its finest.

I requested it to be in a such way because I've learned that Monigue has a frustration of being a princess.And with me around she will always be a princess.

I sheepishly smile.

I hear people murmuring around.

The princess is here.

Lights went out except for the spotlight positioned at the top landing of the staircase.

And there,Monigue looking gorgeously as ever.She walk down the red carpet slowly.Kahit engagement party pa lang ito ay pakiramdam ko ay parang araw na ng kasal namin sa kabang nararamdaman ko.

Mapatingin siya sa akin.

I smiled and a distorted grin formed her face.

Naalala niya ako!

Masaya parin ako.She recognized me.Siguro naalala niya iyong pangyayari sa bar.But doesn't matter as long as she recognized me and that is a good start.

Monique's POV:

Pinipilit kung ngumiti kahit na gusto ko ng magwalk-out sa engagement party na ito.

I scanned the mansion's garden and smiled bitterly.Sa ibang pagkakataon siguro ay mapapaluha ako sa galak.

This is my dream - to have a fairytale setting kung hindi man sa kasal ay sa engagement party na lang.

And as I view the Mansion's solar,I can barely sigh because this exceeds my expectation.

Puno ng bulaklak ang paligid at kumikinang lahat ng bagay na nasa mesa.Even the guest were like  fairytale characters sa garbo ng mga kasuotan.

Whoever decorated this ay kukontakin ko para i-hire sa totoo kong engagement because this one is a fake at sisiguraduhin kong magsisi si Eirick sa pagpayag sa farce na ito.

As I stepped-out from the last landing,I was greeted by the guests and faked another smile.

"Hija, I'm so happy for you",bungad na bati sa akin ni Mama.

I mouthed thank you to her.And kissed her and dad.

I needed to be strong.I will show him who is the real Monique Montenegro.
