[II] Before BETA

I don't know why I ever joined the beta. I know that I was very excited to finally get my hands on the game. There was something about the game I needed. Something I needed before her, but something I still needed deep down.

I promised her I wasn't going to be consumed in the game. My desire to be immersed in this different world would not take me away from her. I lied right through my teeth. I regret joining the Beta.

"There is no way that could ever happen. Do you agree?" She looked up to me from my lap smiling. Her beautiful eyes danced around as she admired my features.

We were watching some action movie about this ninja cyborg fighting some cookie cutter bad guys. She asked me about a scene but I was thinking about the Beta and how I would build my charater.

"Uhh.. No way the uh... Guy could fight that many guys." My sheepish smile proved her thought right that I was really somewhere else.

"So what are you thinking about rice cracker?" She knew I understood a little Japanese slang. She was teasing me, and she knew I liked it.

"I was wondering if I was in the mood for red bean daifuku. However, I think now I am just going to have some Senbei." Her pout was too adorable. She could tease me but couldn't take the teasing. I miss her pout.

"You do not like the movie? We can watch something else." Oh her eyes. I could see every ounce of fear in her. She was afraid I was drifting from her.

"I don't care about the movie. I like having you close. It is here to amuse my pet. Do you like the movie neko?" It wasn't as weird as that sounded. She was my princess, spoiled pet, neko. It made me happy to make her content. I felt.. needed. And I needed that.
